IPS Connect Feedback

I have tried to sort out an issue in which involved IPS Connect,

I have tried to link 2 forums together so then they would share the user database so existing and new members will be members on both sites.

Unfortunately both your community support forums and your support teams will not help me at all.

I am now looking for forum software which has better support as due to this I have lost quite allot in investing in this software.

I have asked them to check the Master forums configuration for IPS Connect and due to the fact that the 2nd board is unlicenced (Which I didn't ask them for support on that) All they have said is "Licence the 2nd board (Which i didn't ask for support for). and we will help".

Which they may as well just said Go away.

I haven't licenced the 2nd board due to the fact that I am not going to spend $165 on something which may not work.

I want to be able to get something working, on an offline website before paying for a 2nd licence, I have paid for my current licence and I need help so I will then be given the option to buy the 2nd licence.

Without me being able to get IPS Connect working I have no need for the 2nd licence as the 2nd board Will not exist.

So instead of potentially wasting my money I've decided to try it out with no success.

I will be purchasing the 2nd licence once I know and I am happy with the IPS Connect product otherwise its a waste of money.

The 2nd site isn't live, hasn't got a skin and is in the alpha stages of development, So I see no problem for using an unlicenced product to ensure that the key bit of software works.

Unfortunately unlike most people $165 is quite allot of money to be throwing at something in which may not even work. I can not take that risk but would like to stay in IPS Software as I do quite like it.

Yes Michael it may be all well and good saying it will work but its not working now, What will me buying a licence for the 2nd board change in the IPS Connect system?

If the IPS Connect system is based off both needing to be licensed before it will function then fair enough.

I am not condoning any sort of running sites with unlicenced products but I do believe that we should have the right to fully test products under the original licence.

As stated above I can not take the risk.

Completely agree Sousuke. As far as I am aware, you are allowed an offline board and an online board. The fact they won't help you is just bad customer service!!

You just said it - an offline board and an online board. The offline board is for development, and IPS don't support development boards.

Which I asked for assistance on the ONLINE live board. Sure its to connect to the 2nd offline board but still I am asking for help on the one board to ensure that the issue is not with the licensed board.

If it is an issue though, they'll fix it. I mean, they use IPS Connect on these very forums to connect to the client area. Don't mean to state the obvious - but that clearly works.

Anyway, I'm out. I just think calling the support useless isn't the best way to go about this.

Or, register the first board with your license and the second board with a test license (add TESTINTALL at the end of your main license). You are allowed according to the IPS terms to have 1 live board and a second test board. As you second board is still being developed, you can install a test license on it.

In which case i dont see why IPS would object to help you.

Our software works, if there is an issue, that is what our support is for, and contrary to your title of this topic, our support it top notch! You won't find support levels equal to ours in many places these days. So as others have mentioned, if you are wanting/needing support for two boards, then you will need to purchase a license for both of them. You are allowed to have a test/dev site, however that is unsupported as also mentioned.

Thank you

Just seems like a cop out to me, the guy has already explained his side and you didn't answer anything.

Just sort it out IPB as a goodwill gesture or something! The rules are grey in areas like this
