caesarsiet
Hi greate mod, IPB 3.3.4 version is compatible?
Michael
Hi greate mod, IPB 3.3.4 version is compatible? The way this mod works relies on the formatted HTML structure of posts that the CKEditor in IP.Board 3.4 brings, I can't rely on this working properly on earlier versions of IP.Board. xbp-tpn
Quite an interesting hook. Could come useful for my site as my users always ask the meaning of specific terms we use while troubleshooting problems. Is it possible to enable or disable the hook in specific forums? For example i have a total of 12 categories on my board and only 4 of them would need something like this. Can i restrict the hook to work on these four forums/categories only? Michael
There's no feature for that yet, feel free to post it in the Tracker if it's something you'd like to see in a future release.

Dmacleo
this looks intriguing, any known issues with vigilink word hover stuff?
Michael
I have never used viglink, I couldn't say.
Dmacleo
can't remember for sure but thought I had read the built in vigilink would not affect stuff that was being modified by mods. this is something I could really use so will find out in few days
Michael
Quick update to version 1.0.1, a couple of new hooks and some bug fixes. EJRav3n
Michael,I want my users to be able to contribute. This Tooltip hook would be very useful to me if you create an interface for a selected usergroup to be able to add key words and the description. Michael
Currently you could give them restricted Admin CP access to the page where this is managed. If you want to manage these words from the front-end, that's a major change. You'd want to submit that to the tracker as a new suggestion.
Barlee
What is the possibility of future updates to be able to link directly to a Wikipedia page so the popup could show that..
Michael
You can currently show the link to the wikipedia entry now if you wanted. If you're wanting the text of that article pulled in automatically, that's not very likely. In order to make that work, some service unique to wikipedia would need written. While that is certainly possible, it would only work for wikipedia, and if I did that then people would want similar things for other sites, like dictionary.com, imdb, amazon, etc. Different services would need to be rewritten for each of those. Michael, to do the Wikipedia integration you can use this script: http://wikipedia-api-script.com/ I prefer not to give CP access to any user, regardless of permission. Please consider adding this functionality to your hook as it would greatly extend its reach.
Michael
Like I said, though, if I add that to pull wikipedia content, then others are going to ask for similar functionality for other services. This app wasn't written with the idea that it would pull this content from any place other than the info you are providing it.

I meant for you to add the functionality I requested on my first post on this thread. I really would like to see that. I don't really care about the Wikipedia. Michael
There's already a suggestion in the Tracker for that: http://invisionfocus.com/tracker/issue-700-users-in-group-xx-can-add-keywords-definitions-also/
Maxxius
I believe wikipedia idea is quite good actually. Don't throw this out just yet Michael :) you can make an exception for that. and if other people want to pull from somewhere else - charge them for the initial introduction and programming and later include it in the app for everybody. end of story. win-win.
