Custom bbcode dev documentation

Dear IPS,

Is it just me or is the documentation on custom bbcode very brief for unexperienced developers?

Let me explain. I wanted to display content only to certain member groups and thought about using the public function preDisplayParse, but I couldn't find examples or any documentation beside this.

While what you describe can be accomplished, that's beyond "Pre-Sales" really.
