On IPB version 3.4, I have the following issue:

Under "Help Topic: Your Control Panel (My Controls)" I read that there should be an option to change the board settings.

Board Settings:

You can manage settings related to how the board is displayed/operates from this page. You can choose your timezone and various view options here,

such as which text editor you would like to use

.

This option can't be found in "My settings". I asked the admin about the issue and got the answer that he can't find it either.

Is there a fix to enable this?

The board you're seeing this on has out of date help files, that text doesn't exist in the current help files for 3.4.

I see. So the option doesn't really exist anymore, right?

Correct, there's just the one text editor now, although it does have separate WYSIWYG and source modes. But there's no independent setting to choose between the two outside of the button on the editor itself.
