Just interested to see what others think on this. Should the notification (red bubble with the number) remain even after clicking the message icon?

For instance, I haven't seen one of the messages yet, but clicking the message icon cleared that there was a message still unread.

Do you think it should count the unread messages, i.e just like a normal inbox, and stay there until you have read them?

Just to note - this is the same way Facebook behaves. The count is meant to give you an idea of how many you are not aware of (not how many are unread).

It seems that's not the case with the mobile skin, they remain.

On mobile they're not "seen" until you visit your personal messenger since there's no quick view.

This is the behaviour I expected and would like to see - perhaps a setting could be added that can be toggled by the user?

Kind of annoying for notifications too, almost immediately you can clear them.

The logic being, I haven't even looked at these messages or notifications and they're cleared when I click :tongue: I like to be reminded I haven't checked X,Y,Z yet. (Just me though)

My members prefer it this way.

I am/was not concerned for notifications - only PMs.
