Integrate Calendar and Content

I wanted to use the calendar app very badly, but ultimately decided against it because of the lack of an agenda (list) view. Instead I built a custom database in IP.Content that is working semi-ok for me. The main benefit is that I can have all the custom fields I want, including database relationship fields. PlusI can trick out the database templates to my heart's content. Plus I can have categories. The downside is that handling dates is tricky. In the listing template, I have a hard time showing only upcoming events. Plus it would still be nice to be able to see my events in a calendar view.

How do I get the best of both worlds?

News from bfarber that IPS is considering adding an agenda view is very welcome (as was Marcher's hook for the same). But now that I've gotten a taste for how useful Content is, I'm not sure that I will want to switch anyway.

Would it be possible to integrate IP.Calendar and IP.Content somehow? Maybe the simplest way would just to be able to show records from the custom database in the calendar, based on some date field in the custom database. Even cooler would be to check a box when designing my custom database that automatically shows all the same fields available in Calendar on the database record submission form. For SEO reasons I'd prefer not to have separate database and calendar records for each event.

I will second this

I am using quite a few custom databases on my site one of which is profiles of people (which are not necessarily) the use of site, the profiles have dates (like birthday) so If I can integrate that with a calender than it will be useful to use it to see say upcoming birthdays or list of people with same birthdays.
