Any way to change the chat sounds?

Dear All

I am one of the site admins for http://www.techieanalyst.net/index.php?/index . I have been particularly interested in the chat functions, as well as several other areas. I was wondering if there was a way to change the sounds for the chat. The lead admin and I have been looking but so far have not found too much. I ask because a good number of our users have suggested that the default "doorbell" sound is rather distracting and not a good thing. If anyone is able to help, that would be great
