h-y-b-r-i-d Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Some pages on my site have a meta description over 500 characters, this is ridiculous and there really should be a setting to limit this. Meta keywords are just as bad, 20+! - Way too many and both make IPboard look spammy to search engines, even more so with recent Panda and Penguin updates.
h-y-b-r-i-d Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 Feedback forum? It would be if staff actually engaged in conversations. I would like to add forum pages to the mix, they have NO meta keywords at all. All this drama about working on SEO and you cant even muster the basics, like the most basic stuff of all.
Ryan H. Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 For what it's worth, keywords aren't even used by Google. They read all feedback topics--they don't always get involved. They wouldn't have much time for actual development if they did.
h-y-b-r-i-d Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 It doesnt use it in ranking, it uses it as a spam signal however and stuffing 20+ tags is spammy as hell. Stuffing 500+ characters in the meta description is also, spammy as hell. That is used in ranking. Not to mention Google is not the only search engine on the planet.
h-y-b-r-i-d Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 Still this in 3.4.... 90's seo. 50 meta keywords stuffed in the tag? 500 character meta descriptions? Wow, basic stuff man.
