Provide the same editing functionality in all apps / content types

Now that IPS is moving away from a forum centered approach and to an App centered approach, I would like to request full editing functionality for all Apps and content types.

While some webmasters may want to limit commenting functionality for downloads, gallery, CMS, blog comments, etc, I think its very valuable to bring the advanced editing functionality that has made forums successful & popular, to comments in Apps. So webmasters may opt to turn the advanced editor on or off for comments.

Bringing full forum functionality to Downloads, Gallery, Blog, calendar can enhance those apps to full discussion applications. It should not be needed to have a copy of a downloads entry posted to the forum, only to be able to have full discussion functionality. The same goes for all content types.

I couldn't agree more. It would seem to me that uniform functionality is essential as I am discovering some rather challenging limitations in some of the modules over the others. IPC is the most powerful solution for all but fails to be consistently tailored to the needs of each module individually. I second this highly.

:) You have it set to give you a notification when someone likes your comment? I was told that that couldn't be done outside of the core...

Or maybe that was for liking images...regardless I recall this coming up during Gallery 5 development. :)

ok, thinking about this.... I am wrong, that is for users following the item... the only reason I have it working on page comments is because I had to force the reputation through manually in addRate via lib hook due to the inability to add a rep type to the app config file with hook.pinch.png

Twas either that, or disable rep for them, lesser of two evils.

Hence, because I am already at that 'spot' by necessity, I was able to add the notification.

In essence, you are correct, it cannot be done outside of the core, I just was already there. :P

:) Hmm, the full editor isn't available for comments, but it is when you go to edit a comment? o.O That's not right.. :)
