BN_IT_Support
are you certain there is not a roque .htaccess somewhere? I would have to see the screen but I am dead certain nothing of the sort is present in the app... Marcher Technologies
I can reproduce on your site, but *only* with link #88.... what did you put in the url/description box? It is acting like it is trying to access an FTP connection, something I have no want or need for or even any code present could cause..... need result of: SELECT * FROM links WHERE link_id=88; To even begin to tell how that is occurring..... Is not my code doing that.
BN_IT_Support
Oh I'm more than happy to accept that it isn't an issue with your code as it works okay on my iPad. 'Tis an odd one though.

BN_IT_Support
Yes sorry... nothing in that row at all. In the interim I went into the table, deleted that row, jogged the auto-increment on a notch and then resync'd the categories ... and now all seems well. Row 88 can't have been a protected site as I was just copying the row 87 entry (good thought though), but whatever it was, jogging the table seemed to work it loose. T'was probably me doing something stupid somewhere? Anyway thanks for helping.
BN_IT_Support
Hmm just had two reports from users that the same thing is still happening to them when they try and modify existing links. Edit: I've just PM'd you as offered rather than prolong things here.

esquire
I wish there was a greater utility for the built in directories here. Marcher's mods are fantastic. I'm not sure that this was one of his and I do own it. I wish there were more listings fields for entry attributes, other fields that allow for sorting or drilldown of the data (perhaps by region and by topic), better layout and an ability to charge for listings. As is, while it's definitely work, it seems to only have a limited application and I do hope that it becomes more developed over time. I think that the company directory mod uses a similar approach as this with more listing fields but, in the end, it's just a different looking interface without many additional features that one thinks of when they consider a directory. Marcher's support is fantastic and makes this small amount to pay worthwhile if you need what this mod will do for you. I might prefer to just use IP.C for it. Bernabe Guerra Jr.
Marcher, I'm having an issue with certain members on the site and they're getting the Ol database error. I had IPS looked at it and they disabled the links hook and it went away. Mark responded with the following, let me know if you need anything to get this resolved. I'm using 3.4.2. Thanks, Ben Hello. That did the trick. Yes, it's the "Links" application causing the error. I've disabled that app for now. You'll need to contact its author for help in getting that fixed. There may be an update available. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Thank you. Marcher Technologies
while that could be potentially anything due to not having the actual driver error from cache, by the description of the symptoms, it is likely this which would be resolved with a reupload and upgrading if necessary. CODECALL
I inserted some links a couple of days ago and was trying to see if they were indexed by Google already, but I can't seem to find anything. Is the module SEO friendly? http://forum.codecall.net/links/ Also, any plans to allow for bulk updates? I have over 1,000+ links that need to be uploaded. If so, here are some requirements: - Allow for CSV or XML - Change username for upload (ex: so _admin_ can upload, but it can be under a _bot_ username) - Publish the links over time (_x_ new links per _y_ day) _ RSS feed for new links

I am however missing the sitemap generator, something among about a million other items going into links 4.1 RE: the rest, I like, RSS and import options will be available. CODECALL
Weird... pages on the site usually get indexed within a few hours, even if it's not in the sitemap, but I can't see any links that I updated from 2 days ago. Cool - looking forward to your next release.

Hexsplosions
Just upgraded from 4.0.2 to 4.0.5, all went smoothly. I did need to reimport hooks to correct a problem with active users not showing on the home page of the links. Users showed as follows: > > Just FYI in-case anybody else has the same issue. I'm looking very forward to 4.1. :D
Marcher Technologies
odd..... hooks inbuilt to links are not supporting that area.... I would have to assume some other hook acting on the active user lists was causing it, very odd that a reimport of hooks corrected it, but all is well that ends I suppose, thanks for posting it. esquire
Marcher - your links directory is even better than anticipated. While I'd like a little more flexibility with templating (like the company directory that has an easier to see side navigation), it's sufficiently clean and clear you put in a great deal of thought into the back end and love the reciprocal link. The affiliate link (or static) is also fantastic, really well thought out. If I recall there may be something down the road for Nexus integration. The other question I had was with regard to changing the path for the directory as I didn't want it to be "links" but a listing for gyms - so I wanted "links" to be /gyms instead. I've tried a couple of times with the furlTemplates but I really need to spend a few hours mastering understanding code replacements. I thought I had it down but either missed a step or didn't do something right. If I can suggest, the ability to NOT require a link. As such it can also serve as a directory for business or what not that may not have an Internet website they want to show or have up at the moment. I don't think that this is really an "omission" because by nature this is a links directory and not a general directory. It's just an idea of how to use this great product you've made and extend it beyond the initial scope. As usual, worth far more than the cost. Thank you. Marcher Technologies
I am actually still working through that very need, at the functional level, the title and content is required(thus, some options are locked on said fields), but anything else I am considering a field to be configured or removed at your leisure....... the 'Link Url' is actually a fairly custom field type. All are custom fields excluding tags in 4.1. I am also looking into ways to allow you to change the furl bit without having to redo that every update I push out. I may end up needing to rethink the name of this modification in honesty, 4.1 is a whole different animal.
john blanco-bello_7649
Would there be anyway to add the ability to make linkbacks required. So a user can submit their website but they must place a little linkback on their homepage. The script would then check via cron every x amount of days that the code is still displayed on their homepage?
Dmacleo
not sure I would like that, for one thing many people cannot use crons so it would then use system scheduler which I am really not enamored with. so you've upped your resource usage to check. but anyone that sees a link to another site on your site is already on your site, so how much benefit would forcing a submitter to promote your site on their homepage provide? for something like that maybe a nexus plugin would be better, something like for 10$ I'll allow you to submit a link to your site. not saying its a bad idea, this is just my opinion. If I was to add such an option, I would go further than that..... they would need to have a publicly available link submitted in Links, but I debate the value, and indeed the feasibility with me making efforts to make the system link-agnostic.. I will not scrape a webpage for any reason, .I want to make that very clear to all.
