This hook will allow use password in topics. The passwords are encrypted using MD5. This hook use cookes, so you can access the topic/preview the topic content or view the topic content in user profile tab if you already type the correct password and you keep the cookie.

100% hook: no file or template edits required!

Settings:

• Logs: If enabled, will create a log at every failed/successfull attempt of login on a protect password topic
• Groups: User groups who will can create topic with password
• Exempt Groups: If the topic author requires a password to access the topic, you can select groups who will NOT need to enter the password in.
• Forums: Specify which forums can have their topics created using password

Question, who sets the password? topic starter? Does the admin have full access without the password?

Yes, topic starter and there's a setting to choose the excempt groups, which will have access to the topic without type the password.

I'll be able to use a friend's PC tomorrow. I'll install the hook and will let you know. In the meantime, disable all hooks, except this and re-test it.

Ok. FYI, there's no error with hook, I just tested it.

An IPS Staff and a MP Moderator will also test the hook. If they also can't reproduce your error, I won't refund you.

Hello, i found bug in your hook.

When u try to create topic in forum which isn't in a list in settings

What do i mean: I start a new thread, there no field where can i type password - its ok!, cause in ACP this forum not protected by password and there i cannot use it. BUT!!! When topic created, i can add password or view logs! All my settings correct, i think this is really bug((((
