One more function, which should be embedded by default, but isn't.

This hook will check every X seconds (10 by default) for new unread PM + Notifications (if any) and update indicators.

It will also put count into the title of all pages like Twitter or Facebook.

Lets stay on trends %7Boption%7D This will bring more interaction to your community.

Note: Hook has been renamed to (DDK33) Instant Notifications starting from v2.0.0.

Tips & Tricks: Don't forget to configure your boards notification defaults - [AdminCP -> Members -> Notification Defaults]. This will affect new coming members to receive more notifications just from the beginning. By default many push notifications are disabled in IPB, unfortunatelly.

I do not see any new hooks in my system settings categories after installing this.

great.

Also had a doubt, suppose if the ( Ajax Push Update ) is set to example 120 seconds, and i got a PM at 10 seconds, so it won't show, but what if i refresh the page ?

Will it show, or i will have to wait for 120 seconds to show the update ?

Also was wondering, will it create lot of load on server if we put it to 10 seconds and their are lot of members, so for every 10 seconds it will check via AJAX .!

It will show new msg soon after you will refresh the page in that case. Regarding server load - it's equals to pressing "Edit post" every X seconds :)

No, it's just about simple ajax query, no modules to be loaded, just reading memberData array variables.

Hello,

Though you said it wasn't a problem, this created an overload of my servers, wich unfortunately got blocked by my hosting company. Hopefully, the problem was resolved when I disabled your hook. But this is just to say than I don't advise this mod, unless you obviously have powerful dedicated servers or anything similar.

Best regards,
Atsuki.

Because if your server is going down due to 10 sec tick of online members - it's so sad :D

I agree. I use shared hosting and I am encountering no problems. If you need a great host that's very fast and low cost feel free to message me and I'll refer you to mine. You'll be very pleased...:) This hook works well...
