Hi,

Just paid and downloaded this skin and it installs OK in the admin area, but when I come to use it I get error.
I am a complete NooB with IPBoard, and just switching from another script

Is there a pay to install option for this?

Or shall I just post up the problems, and see if we can work it out?

Code what you send me for guests only view slider works not in light version..but works fine in dark version. Have you some another solution?

generally any code for dark version use the prefix Maxx , light version use Maxx_light

how can i make that guests see the slider in the header.also i have notice on IE does not show the background image.Here are the ss.the first ss is in IE as guest.The second is in chrome asa admin.

guest can see slider , not sure what you mean ?
for explorer : in which version of explorer you got this ?

I've been using the Maxx Skin Light for a couple more days, and I'd like to offer the following feedback to help you improve the skin. Many of the suggestions are very minor -- just misspellings or uppercase / lowercase to make the skin appear "professional" to end users like me. Some of the suggestions are big problems that I hope you will be able to immediately fix, since some of the configurations in the Maxx Skin Light are impossible for non-technical people like me to change. I look forward to a new release of the Maxx Light skin with my suggestions in the near future. -Joel

1. System Settings > Maxx_light Skin Settings

"Maxx_light SKIN Settings" to "Maxx_light Skin Settings." (Fix uppercase / lowercase)

Board Index Layout: Default Mode, Category Mode, Forums Mode, Topic Mode. (Fix misspellings and uppercase / lower case)

2. Suggestion: When a person customizes their profile with custom background + colors, use profile background not Maxx Skin Light.

In regular IP.Board, a user may customize their profile by selecting a background that only shows in their profile. Currently, Maxx Skin Light overrides this setting and replaces it with the Maxx Skin background. You should let the user still use their profile background.

3. Suggestion: How do I modify the "Ask / Answer / Ask an Expert"?

In the future, maybe create a "Settings" to customize or disable the "Ask / Answer / Ask an Expert" in the ACP using a Rich Text Editor. For example, you let admin upload a custom picture, set custom text using rich text editor, and create a custom button. Otherwise, I have no idea how to modify. This is a big problem, since your text is very generic and I'm sure everyone would like to customize %7Boption%7D

4. Thumbnails for Pre-Made Backgrounds

How do you change the thumbnails for pre-made backgrounds? I've changed the 4 pre-made pictures, but it's still using the old thumbnails.

5. Custom Logo

When admin uploads a custom logo, override the website name.

6. Languages

Correct some minor misspelling here, and uppercase "Languages" to make it look professional.

hello , thanks for your feedback .
all your request done and more settings added like more sliders placeholders , thumbs for slider images , theme drawer position setting , slider for guest only setting , and more ip.content blocks ...... the new version now under test
the problem that these improvments required uninstall the hook and reinstall the new version again which will delete old saved settings , so I am waiting for the first 3.4 beta version to publish it , I do not want to confuse customers by forcing them to delete their old settings
I will be sure to send you a copy of this when it is ready since as I said it will not released now

if you want image logo then you may revert the template called default header

a settings added for the next update , for now you can edit/delete it manually
this is in the template called sub header , if you want to remove it just delete this template contents

guests,see the slider but with no image there.Just like in first ss,I mention that i have only one image in the slider.this imagi is showing when logged in,but when logging out i cant see the image.

I registered in your site and checked your report :
you have 0 sliders enabled and only welcome slide enabled which is only shown for members .
so there are two solutions :
1-enable one slide in slider settings
or
2- modify member welcome slide to be shown for guest also
how to do this :
open the template called maxx_member_message and replace the content by

Hi Ajouz,

Thank you so much for replying in such detail! I look forward to the next release of the Maxx Light skin, which I'm sure will be wonderful. :thumbsup:

I have some more suggestions which I think will polish the skin even more:

1. Social Media Icons -- Fix the text: "News Link / RSS Link / LinkedIn Link" See Screenshot #1 Social Media.

2. Social Media Icons -- "Tumblr" and "Pinterest" options: You may want to think about adding Tumblr and Pinterest, which are becoming two of the fastest growing social-sharing sites. Pinterest was the third most visited social networking site in the world, behind only Facebook and Twitter. Here's some info I know there might be many, many other good options for social media.

3. Skin Settings -- Default CSS Class: I'm not really sure what this does. :tongue: Maybe you should add some more description / text on what you mean by the default css class. Also, you should change the text: "This allows you to change the default background" See Screenshot #2 Default CSS Style

4. Slider Settings:

A) I thought of something that might "clean up" this page. You ask if "slider type" = "Image" or "Video." However, you duplicate almost all the information. Maybe you expand one set of information if Image, one set of information for Video. See Screenshot #3

B) Can you add an option per slide on how to change the effect? :tongue: All of my slides to the left! It would be nice if I could choose if slide go left / right / up / down / zoom. I don't need *all* options, just some basic options.

Lastly, I know you spend a lot of time and effort working on the Maxx Light skin, and all of your customers appreciate it :smile: . I know I'm asking for a lot of 'improvements' to the skin, so I also wanted to offer something extra. Would you like me to write English descriptions for all of the settings? This is one small way I can help pay you back for all of the wonderful work you do on the skin, and it will help new people in the future! :thumbsup:

Hey Ajouz, quick question: Is there a way to remove/hide the header completely? I'm not thinking about the "alternative header", but just to remove the header as i love the skin but feel that the header is a bit in the way for what i am planning to use it for.

I'm trying to add my own logo, the logo is 300x70px. After i did the "revert the template called default header" it is still crashing in the menu line.

The slider should be group permited. I would love to show the slider to my guest but not the members. Is that possible to fix in near future?

in ipb_styles.css find this

.author_info,table.ipb_table tr ,#mymedia_toolbar,p.citation,.preview_info,.preview,.css3_eff

under this there is

background: none repeat scroll 0 0 rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.4) !important;

now want it lighter then change 0.4 to higher value like 0.6 or 0.8

please note that this will effect all the board not only this area

yes this possible but where exactly you want rounded edges ?

I guess you mean same area in your last post ? if yes then add this to ipb_styles.css
