Can someone help me with installation?

I've gone to the google page, clicked 'Create new Server key' but when I try entering mysite.com/{board_root}/interface/board/google.php I receive an error that says "Server key was not created. Please make sure your input was valid." and within the window itself it says "Invalid referrer." Do I need to be entering an IP address?

Use 'Create new Client ID' or 'Create another Client ID'... the wording does change if you have one on the account.

Hmm. I have a small problem. I have read this whole thread. Finished with the tutorial, but no google login showing on my forum.

I have double checked that i have the google.php and linkgoogle.php on my FTP.

I use the same Client ID and Client secret as provided by google.

I tried all of these combinations.

Google "Real Name/Display Name" --> Force display name.

Google Login Prompt Type ---> Automatic

But still no luck. Does anyone have a suggestion on what i can do?

This is a great mod. I've noticed that upon users registering through this option, their member names include the @googlemail.com. How do I prevent this from happening? Ideally would just want to cut this piece off automatically so their direct emails are not part of their default member name.

Anyone?

I'm confused, cannot get it to work. I fill out everything and upload the Hook, but the Google button to sign up on my forum is not showing up and no choice to choose signup through Google.

Login module on?

Hook and google API console configured? files uploaded?
The readme states quite clearly the install/configuration procedures, did you read it? This is not a hook that simply installs and automatically has effect, it requires some minor configuration.

Yeah, I read all and follow the instruction. It didn't say about going through the system setting Login Management and turn on Google Signup. It work now.

I have a problem though,Guest can successfully register and signup for the Board with Google Account. But when they signin through the forum again with their Google Account password, it does not work and say wrong password. They have to click on Sign in through Google everytime to sign in the forum.

I do not know where it is that I say I have access to and store the google account password?

Google does not provide said information, to use local login, they would need to set a local password(or somehow guess whatever IPB generated for them), a link is provided to set a local password until they have done so.

Every attempt I have made thus far to force input of a password has resulted in confronting the registrant with a blank form impassible.

I see, thank for the clarification. I thought it would work like Twitter and Facebook. The problem now is that IPBoard does not ask for a password when registered through Google. So they have to reset their password once successfully sign in using Google Sign in to sign in the forum normally.

I am quite aware of this problem, and will see what I can do about it, the problem now is that me doing so in every way I have tried has resulted in a blank form, rather than what you and I want, the user's submission of a password.

I actually directly asked this in a contributor topic and got no response, dead silence.

The only thing I would change is moving the settings out to community enhancements, which I will given time....

If there is an issue, post it? I tested it and it seemed fine.

I am not having any luck with this in 3.4.1

Worked well for 3.3.x, however when I click on "Allow Acess" it just refreshes the page.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

This is correct

I just tested this... can i have a screencap of your configs(blur sensitive, really talking about the other options)?

currently having difficulty reproducing that on 3.4.1... registered and logged in, out, and back in with a user through google from local(yes, that does in fact work if you feed google the correct Redirect URIs).

When I visit :

http://www.yoursite/interface/board/google.php

I get http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/373898-download-smooth-scroller/?p=2344070

I cannot reproduce this(in a normal environment, I am reproducing trying to reg on your site through it just fine), would you mind updating that hook and telling me if it helps before I request access to debug it?

Done, same behaviour.

I need to get some sleep, I will leave this until a bit later.
