Pre-defined Topic Fields

Lets you set up some default text that will be filled in for all new topics in specified forums. You can define the default Topic Title and initial post content. People posting new topics in forums where this is active will be able to alter this text, but it is useful to provide a common template for specific types of topics.

Hello Michael,

Your mods are a huge asset to the IPS community, and I appreciate the time you've taken to create them. I know you're a pretty busy guy, but I was wondering if there's an ETA on this mod's update.

My latest project will be relying on it, so I don't want to launch without it.

Thanks, sir!

Existing customers of this hook, be sure to check the upgrades page on my site for your chance to purchase this new version for just $5 instead of the normal $10 sale price. Be sure to check out these topics to ensure you are properly set up for using this page:

I didn't know this was so close to being released since no ETA was available so I bought another mod for this. %7Boption%7D

Stupid mistake, because the other guy is rude and ignores his support topic. I should have waited for this mod.

You're top shelf, Michael. Thanks for all you put out for IPB!

Oh well, if you ever decide the other mod isn't worth it, you know where to find this one now. [img]

I'll be buying it in a couple weeks. I've decided I can't trust the other guy, he can shut off the functionality of his mod any time he wants due to the way he has to "activate" it, I'm pretty sure.

I've used this mod for years and is one of the most critical portions of my forums. My members have come to rely on it. I really appreciate all the work you've put into it, MIchael, and hope to see it for 3.3.3 soon (as upgrading my forums depends on this one mod).

It may work out of the box with IP.Board 3.3, most of my 3.2 mods have so far. I'll be working on verifying this compatibility with everything this week, but you may want to give this a try on a test board if you're looking to upgrade ASAP.

I haven't had time yet to create the new version yet, but if you had the version on your site before you upgraded you should be fine. If it's a new install, just install the hook as per normal and then run these queries:

ALTER TABLE ibf_forums ADD pre_text text DEFAULT NULL;

ALTER TABLE ibf_forums ADD pre_title varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL;

Replace ibf_ with your SQL table prefix.
