Mark
File Name: Forum Pruner Task File Submitter: Mark File Submitted: 20 Apr 2010 File Category: Maintenance Supported Versions: IP.Board 3.1.x, IP.Board 3.2.x, IP.Board 3.3.x, IP.Board 3.4.x A System Scheduler hook that will prune selected forums on a monthly basis. You can choose one or more forums to prune, and set the pruning schedule using IP.Board's System Scheduler. Note that you set a single schedule that will prune all selected forums; you cannot choose separate schedules for different forums. There are settings that enable you to not prune Pinned topics in the selected forums, choose whether to delete topics from the database completely, to only prune topics with X number of replies for fewer (so as to keep any popular topics in the forums from being pruned), and to only prune topics that have not had a reply in X number of days. here to download this file
Calvin39
Michael would it take much to adapt this to prune members rather than posts, say if they had not posted in the last 2 years. Cheers Gerry
Michael
Yes, that's very different. You probably want something like this:
Computer Candy
I am thinking about purchasing this mod. However, the screenshot shows: "Prune all topics with this number of replies or fewer (0 to prune all)." I want to delete topics with ONLY 0 replies. But according to your description of this option, if I enter "0" it will delete ALL topics. Can I use this mod to delete topics from select forums and ONLY topics with "0" replies, without deleting ALL topics? Thank you. P.S. Can you confirm this works with IPB v3.1.4? P.P.S. Love your dynamic Doctor Who Avatars!
Michael
That setting has been updated in the latest version, '0' should now prune all topics with 0 replies, '-1' for that setting should skip this criteria. If you put 0 for that setting, it should check to see if the topic has less than or equal to 0 replies to see if it is one that should be pruned. And yes, it does work fine with 3.1.4. Michael
Every topic has to have at least one post in it, otherwise what's the point of a search engine indexing it?
Cosmin Dumitru
Is there a way to move the topics to a different subforum and not just delete them ? Manual pruning allows one to do that.
Michael
No, this product is designed as a pruner task, not a mover task. The title and description explain what it does.
Michael
This app still works fine for IP.Board 3.4, nothing was changed except the documentation indicating its new compatibility.
smallblockfuelie
I am having diffilcies in renewing and always end up with a blank white page. Is there a known problem or am I just special? Thanks!
Michael
I have no control over how the Marketplace here behaves, no one outside of IPS staff does. You'd need to contact a staff member through your client area if the Marketplace gives you trouble purchasing/renewing.
sobrenome
Is it working on the last 3.4.6?
sobrenome
Usage question: I want to buy this plugin to delete from my database OLD topics (more than 6 months) with NO replies. I could not be sure how to set the plugin to execute this task. It says in the attachment that if I put "0" as "prune topics with how many replies" the plugin will delete ALL topics. Is it possible to achieve what I want with this plugin? How could I set it? And why should I set the plugin NOT to delete the topics from the database completely? Michael
If you put 0 in the setting "Prune all topics with this number of replies or fewer", it will prune topics only with 0 replies. You would enter -1 in that setting if you wanted to prune all topics. If you don't want the topics to be deleted completely, you'd just set the setting "Delete the topics from the database completely?" to No.
