You can search for name changes based on the name they change to/from. The list allows you to sort by member name, name changed from, name changed to, date changed, and IP address used. zooforum
I just installed Display Name Tracker v1.0.0 and it seemed to install o.k. I went and changed the user login username (which is also the display name) editing the user from the ACP of one of my "test users" from mooch to moocher. I then clicked the My Apps tab and selected the (IM) Display Name Tracker and this is what I saw in the log entry... ...but what I can see from this log entry, it does not tell me what the username was before the change. I have in the Tools & Settings > System Settings > Members > Username Restrictions the Allow "Display Names" option set to No... Since I do not allow separate display names to be used that are different than the user login names (the login name is also the user display name) is this the reason the Display Name Tracker does not show the "Changed From" username correctly? Thanks in advance for your reply!
Michael
This app is a display name tracker, if you're not using display names then there's little point in using it.
Viper V2
hello, for some reason it is not giving the name that people are changing. This will tell me someone has cganged their name but no what the new name is.
Michael
Using the SQL Toolbox or phpMyAdmin, browse your ibf_dnames_change table. That's the table IP.Board uses to store name changes, and it's what this app pulls from (this app doesn't edit that data, only reads it). If the names are showing up the same in that database table it means those members are choosing to change their names and not actually changing them, or something else is interfering with IP.Board's built-in logging of display name changes. Michael
Try to see what happens in that table when you change your own name, see if it is properly logging that. If so, you might want to check with those members listed and see if maybe they simply attempted to change their name but put the same value in for the new name. If not, then you'd likely want to open a ticket with IPS to see why name changes aren't being logged properly; that's a feature of IP.Board, not this app.
Michael
This app still works fine for IP.Board 3.4, nothing was changed except the documentation indicating its new compatibility.
Cabola
I still have this in 3.4.7 and I hope it'll be upgraded to the v4 series too!
