Lewis P
How come these exact games play on the site though without ads and load fast? I'd be willing to pay for no-ad versions just like the ones which I demo'd. Hmm... I'm not sure. I didn't install the games on the iArcade website. Waiting for a response from Collin would be best. :)
Dmacleo
because the swf is probably coded to recognize incoming url
Eric Allione
I'm sorry I mixed up the SWF with the app. iAracade overall is built very well with nice options. Also, I'm doubly stupid because I went back an checked that game with the loud video ad (Starmaggedon) and there's a built in ad on the site too... I just didn't notice it because I had my mute button on. Then when I went to go test my first game, my mute button was off and I got blasted with that ad (which was disproportionately loud to the game). Anyway, it's absolutely no fault from iArcade's end, and I shouldn't have made sweeping assumptions from only trying one game; it was just a sketchy game and I'm sorry for the mixup. However, about half of the games are causing crashing in the upload saying that there is a "driver error in the database". This happened with 11/16 of the games so more than not. Again, I'm assuming this is just a problem with the games. That's a question for ipbdownloads.com though, and I'm sorry for unfairly slandering your app. I went ahead and gave it 5 stars in the review section. I'm absolutely thrilled with this app for the games that work and it's a major upgrade for my forum in general so thanks for your hard work. Eric Allione
Is there a way to delete a score on a leaderboard if it randomly double-posted for some reason? This only happened one, maybe I double-clicked when submitting my score.
Eric Allione
I found the answer to deleting duplicate (or hacked) scores. Just go to _iarcade_scores in phpMyAdmin. Also, in _iarcade_games I was able to delete the residue of the games which failed to install due to driver errors.
Eric Allione
Edit: I found this tutorial on iarcademod.com. I think it's what I'm looking for so going to give it a try. Response: Still not ideal, but better. For anyone else who's interested, this is what I got from the directions in that tutorial: _________ I have a question about the leaderboards, is there a way to make it so that only one person's best score shows up, just like how it does on ibddownloads.com? The problem with this leaderboard is that if one person spams the game then s/he ends up flooding the leaderboard, creating several pages of scores, and no one else is able to view their best time if they are not in the same ballpark. I've been getting some complaints about this; it discourages people from playing if they know their score isn't going to be visible on a leaderboard: This is what they do, and it works out perfectly: " alt="idealLeaderboard_zpsff38e33d.png">

Telemacus2
I am terribly busy at the moment - I work for IPS as most of you know and that consumes most of my free time that is not otherwise taken up by being a full-time university student or personal matters on weekends. Even my own personal projects have been somewhat sidelined right now. It's a shame, because as Lewis mentioned, we did have some features in the pipeline that were *really cool* and my hope is that we can just roll everything into a new app once 3.4 comes out. No guarantees, sorry folks, but you're not forgotten. 3.4 is out! (ok, just a couple of days) Maybe you could make this a paid app? the extra cash does help and we wouldn't feel guilty when demanding a fix or a new version. ;)
Axel Wers
3.4 is out! (ok, just a couple of days) I tested current iArcade with 3.4.0 Beta 5 and it seemed OK Maybe you could make this a paid app? the extra cash does help and we wouldn't feel guilty when demanding a fix or a new version. ;) I would be able to pay few bucks when upgrades, fixes and new features were available. Lewis P
I can confirm that iArcade 1.3 works just as well on IPB 3.4 as it does on 3.3. I'll try to speak to Collin this weekend and we can hopefully work out a good time for us to finish and get the update out. and we wouldn't feel guilty when demanding a fix or a new version. ;) But we'd feel guilty when we can't keep up with the updates. ;)
Telemacus2
But we'd feel guilty when we can't keep up with the updates. ;) Yes, that's why paid mods are worth it. :) But I don't know... this is popular app, and if you get 200, 300 or +400 users times, say, 20... hmm... and those new smartphones, laptops, tablets + gadgets that you wanna buy, and that little present that would make you girl so happy and... ;)
Lewis P
Oh don't get me wrong, I'd love to be able to guarantee future updates, but I'm a full-time student and Collin is a full-time IPS employee. Neither of us really have the guaranteed time to dedicate. ;)
Axel Wers
iArcade should be regular app in IP.Suite. Currently IPB looks much more social network than common forum. And games are very popular in social networks.

Neither of us really have the guaranteed time to dedicate. ;) Fair enough, and it's very honest of you guys to say so. There is another "model" that you guys could contemplate: - One last effort releasing the final (paid) version with those ideas that you guys had (and other people's suggestions perhaps) and then, after say 1 or 2 months, perhaps sell the app (or transfer it, etc.) so that some of the people with growing app portfolios could take over. You could factor out the "no support after 1 or 2 months" for the price of the final version and then the app would continue to be developed by people who do have time for it. This way you guys would get a well deserved reward for the great work that you've put into this app and the community would benefit from the fact that other people will continue to support it and develop it... Axel Wers
There is something wrong with your installation. There shouldn't be any settings.php file in admin/applications/core/modules_admin/tools/ and settings.php file in my admin/applications_addon/other/iArcade/modules_admin/settings/ directory has only 66 rows. What version IPB and iArcade are you running?
