Input issue on Android Browsers

Are the techs aware, that inputting text on this software is not possible on Android browsers?

IE:, typing in any text on replies, threads, etc. is just not possible. So the software cannot be replied on using tablet pc's, etc. when using Android.

We have many customers (and staff) using Android, and this is the first I've heard of such an issue.

What version of Android you using and what device? I've used a fair number and never had a problem.

Really? That surprises me. What happens is, when you try to type, if you press your finger on the touch screen.... hold on, an image might be better, albeit a fabricated one....



Just to add to that, we have never had an issue with any other site not allowing typing, Android 2.2 I think it is, on a tablet, Archos tablet

I seem to be making a habit of asking questions, that nobody else is having, or has had an issue with. Interesting. Must be imagining it, similar to the 'tag issue' that 'nobody else seems to be having, or is bothered about'.

2.2? I wouldn't bet on CKEditor working at all properly in 2.2. I know it works fine in 2.3 and up though (even though on 3.0 it can be a bit glitchy)

Does it work here: http://ckeditor.com/demo ? If so, then it possibly is a problem with the IPB implementation, otherwise, I can only suggest that you use the mobile skin when using the tablet - not the best solution, but it is a solution.

I have the same problem when using Opera Mobile on both Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Android 3.2 and LG Optimus 2x with 2.3.4. But strangely I'm able to write in the Topic Title and Topic Tags fields.

When using the stock browser or Dolphin browser I'm able to write, but it takes a couple of seconds before the first characters come. I'm using SwiftX keyboard, the line at the top were the predicted words are shown is not displayed, it's like when I'm inputting a password.

Before upgrading to 3.3.x everything was fine. I now have the problems in all the three IP.Board forums I visit (including the one I'm administrating)
