Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
nitt Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 well i dont know who came to the idea but this smlies arrangement system sucks! i ve to spent huors to regroupe and arrange, i am really pissed.
Michael Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Any specific suggestions on how to do it better? It's all well and good to ask for improvements, but it's hard to implement anything if it's not clear what changes are needed.
nitt Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 well the old layout wasnt bad at all. right now i find it very difficult to drag or add a smilie one by one. for few smilies its not a problem, but if you have 100 of smilies, its really painful(for my hand  and frustrating. also it would be great if we can create groups with different purposes i.e. smilies for birthday, sad smilies, .... like vbulletin.
connorhawke Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 +1 for better emot organization and processing. The uploading process often doesn't do what is expected, and it's chaotic to reorganize emots. Some potential issues noted here: http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/347527-not-understanding-emoticon-management/

It's all well and good to ask for improvements, but it's hard to implement anything if it's not clear what changes are needed. I do. Go back to version found on 3.1.4. The manager in 3.0 is totally disfuncational. Yes, you can and will waste hours of time if you have a lot of emoticons.
broni Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 To me the main issue is the inability to move/delete/activate smileys in bunches. Before and after main holidays it takes me ages to add/remove smileys.
-Seven- Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 yes there is no option for hard delting any smileys it should be there
bfarber Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I do. Go back to version found on 3.1.4. The manager in 3.0 is totally disfuncational. Yes, you can and will waste hours of time if you have a lot of emoticons. The emoticon manager in 3.1.4 and 3.0 are nearly identical if I'm not mistaken. Did you intend to say 2.3?
jackflash Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 The emoticon manager in 3.1.4 and 3.0 are nearly identical if I'm not mistaken. Did you intend to say 2.3? My mistake. The system used in 3.1.4 is more manageable than the one in 3.2. For large board operators whose community uses a lot of emoiticons, managing them in 3.2 takes a considerable amount of time. It's very inefficient when compared to 3.1.4 and VB.
