In my settings on the front end would it be possible to include a check box next to each contact method to determine whether it should be shown publicly or just available to admins. I would like to include a telephone/mobile field but some members will want then kept private whereas others would like them to be made available to everyone.

I agree to this, have the ability to have them only display to friends or you could be a little funny and have ones for only ignores. :)
