File Name: Record HoverCards

This IP.Content Ajax Module Allows You to Easily add Content Record HoverCard previews.
Includes 2 IP.Content Blocks Showcasing this Functionality and usage thereof.
Included is the ability to define your own skin template/group, and define the database utilized in the javascript snippet via database id or key.
Utilizes the native IPB HoverCard, so no extra script includes needed.
Simple enough implementation for the coding novice to utilize easily, but with the flexibility to allow advanced usages with custom skin templates.
No need for javascript callbacks, or extensive measures to define the pop-up record content.
View Permissions are honored throughout.
Works with any IP.Content database... shows fields specified to show in listings that are user-editable and not empty on the record.

Note: cross-domain usage is untested and will very likely not work.

Hi MT,

You may remember helping create a block for this: http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/344183-download-hsc32-recent-posts-sidebar-block/

You will see at the end I requested a hover over for it. Will this creation of yours work for this?

Sadly, no.
This ajax module is laser-pointed at content records... while extremely flexible in implementation regarding content, that was its specific designed purpose.... that being said however... ajax modules are simply not that difficult to code together with a spec purpose in mind.... when i have some time i will look into that.

Does this just hover the submitted content information or can you click "add record" and it pop up in a hovering box?

Sorry, I'm just trying to clarify because my members would love not having to change the page every time to add a record.

Once i figure out where the sam shucks CKE is hiding the smilies, this is not only viable, but customizable in defined template usage returns as the "cards" are.

i have updated this file.
now included is a bbcode to utilize these hover-cards anywhere in ipb editor fields(permissions on the bbcode pending of course).
usage is fairly simple.

[hoverccs=1:9]

for example, would make a hover-card within the posted content the link text of which would be the title of the record with the primary_id_field of 9 within the database with the id of 1(articles) with the link href directed at that record(very similar to member bbcode in this manner) .
any questions please feel free to ask.

Quick question... I'm not familiar with hovercards, but they might be what I'm looking for. I will have lots of articles which will have terms novice readers probably won't understand. Rather than define them in the article, I'd like the reader to be able to mouse over an unfamiliar word, then have the definition of the word appear in a new small window. Will hovercards do that, within the text of an article?

Just asking the question again since it hasn't been answered... :)
