Some "follows" are gone

I noticed here at community.invisionpower.com that some topic "follows" are gone (or at least from the front-end display), and attempting to re-follow has no effect on it.

This issue is still prevalent on this board ....

Can you be more specific on what you are doing?

Can you open a bug report pointing out on which topics this happens for you and the steps to reproduce? Without any example it's hard to reproduce/investigate.
