This Simple BBCode 2-BBcode Set overcomes the Limitation of the CKE in regards to floating an item around another bbcode, and adds a tidy spacing so no touching of elements occurs.
Made on request of a Client, offered freely as it is so simple a BBCode.

Hi -

Can this work in the IP Content articles section? I am interested from the standpoint of our members who I hope will be adding articles. We have a custom attachment field now created that is easy to follow but for those who want to add an image, how does the BBCode work in relation to the URL that shows in your images for this code? Is it a two step process? First add the image as an attachment, and then click on it to align it?

Thanks,

Brian

Oh boy I hope so

What I don't understand and I am not knocking ips but I have seen this requested so many times since ipc was launched and it is still not taken into account in this latest version so I really hope Marcher has cracked it.....mind you I would be suprised if he hasn't

it can... but not with attachments... i suppose as it is so simple i could modify it to accept inner bbcodes and just be a straight float for any item instead of solely image urls?

How solve this?

post-148636-0-85772300-1320462157_thumb.

Tnx

place some space after the text... its meant for floating text around other objects.... not really meant for use on small posts.... i looked at adding a <br class='clear' /> but twould break the entire float text around an item functionality.
as a note.... using one of these is suffice to wrap text around another object... should never need nor use 2 to attempt to align 2 items left and right, one does that.

The only glitch is that with 3.3.4, I noticed that when yoou have the image on the left side and align to the right side of the image, there is a massive spacial gap. Tried to install it and while it works, there seems to be some hiccups with it. I don't know if it's just with my installation of it or maybe if it's the skin customizations I use that's interfering with it.

you should be wrapping the image with the bbcode. then typing the text, or vice versai.

It is a simple float to be honest, text-align factual would be rather bad for lists and such.

Thanks, Marcher. I figured it out. I was wrapping the text inside the bbcode and placing the image on the outside. Didn't think to place the image inside the bbcode. Thanks for the explanation of how it works. Been waiting for something like this, makes two great plugins you've made that have been very useful on my site, the first one was that premium ips.layout template plugin. Thanks.

I was successfully using this BBCode in my articles section, but I realized it wasn't necessarily an intuitive feature to have available for my members to use, because it does not visually preview the functionality in CKEditor, which might be confusing to the end user. In my BBCode settings, I set 'Which groups can use this BBCode?' to Administrators, and now it does not get parsed when using it in IPContent articles, the [alignright] tags just appear as regular text. Is there any way around this? I've also tried different settings for 'Where can the BBCode be used?' and 'BBCode Application' but the result is still the same. It seems the new align BBCode tags are only parsed if I allow all users access to it.

Any ideas when might cause this? Thanks!

Hopefully, at some future point, IPB will provide javascript callbacks to allow me to do this.

sounds like this.
