Aiwa
File Name: Shoutbox IPContent Block File Submitter: Aiwa File Submitted: 07 Oct 2011 File Category: Integration This Block is a Straight port of Michael McCunes Board Index Shoutbox Sidebar Hook. You MUST Have Shoutbox[3.2] and IPB 3.2 for this block to function. This Block allows a Shoutbox on IPC pages sans hassle/URL include/exclude and respects the permissions of the original Shoutbox Application. here to download this file
.Ian
Hi, Thanks. Just tried it, but despite making the change, I am still seeing the sidebar version. Have re-cached the block as well. Any thoughts?

Dunno what version of 3.2 Content that is, but i do Know its a custom php block and therefore is a possibility.

BethmooraRaven
HI! Just tried to install this version of Shoutbox but having problems. Gone through the installation process as directed, but when you click on the Shoutbox tab, you get an error message:Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/94/7945794/html/forum/admin/sources/base/core.php on line 2685 Warning: array_reverse() [function.array-reverse]: The argument should be an array in /home/content/94/7945794/html/forum/admin/applications_addon/other/shoutbox/sources/classes/library.php on line 334Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/Unfortunately I am a newbie at all this and I'm not at all familiar with php, so any advice you can give would be very much appreciated! The_Welsh_One
Hi Marcher, For some reason I've already got the shoutbox displayed as it does on the main board within IP Content, but I would like to lose it from my IP Content page. I appreciate your help. I've asked the same question to Michael. Thanks WelshLad

Button labels keep disappearing... and I cant seem to get any template around it... So that the chat is viewable... Any ideas? ... kind of a vague question..... is there a bug with this block itself(i did heavily test this latest release with Michael having rewritten a large portion of the application for any bugs, and resolved all found), or is guidance needed on placement? CrossFire-Radio
My other blocks that I have created myself.. Login and a few others show up just fine... I have all the most recent of shoutbox, content, and ipb... So when I place the block onto the page theres no template it around it or anything... Do I need to create one for it? Is there suppose to be one on it (to say..match your forums)? As for the buttons, they will show up, but if the page is refreshed or you leave and come back, all the text on the buttons vanish... No other way to explain it.. So im not sure if that helps any,

No other way to explain it.. So im not sure if that helps any, .... hrmmm. its supposed to utilize Michael's templates.... that is to say, No template should specifically be required as one is already presented by the code in the block itself, sending the raw data directly off to Michael's template's, which with the given choice of the global or sidebar style, I thought was quite sufficient... The second bit, I will investigate.... but I have not experienced that.... nor can I think of... well, anything that could cause text to appear once, then simply vanish... :logik: It is usually either present, or not... not playing hide-and-seek. CrossFire-Radio
Heres a screen shot of what it looks like when I add it to my main IP.Content page.. See how none of the buttons have any text at all... and it has a transparent background.. and has no template on it..

See how none of the buttons have any text at all... and it has a transparent background.. and has no template on it.. :twitch: .... confirm the normal shoutbox hook looks fine on that skin? seriously looks like either a skin conflict, or an outdated template.... cannot reproduce on stock for trying... anyone else experience this? 0-o. CrossFire-Radio
Yes, normal SB is fine with no issues... no issues with the skin itself either. Skin is for board 3.2.x

Skin is for board 3.2.x Dd you download the latest version, and recache the block? i still get the feeling you have outdated code..... as i said, I am unable to reproduce on the stock skin with the latest block uploaded and latest SB version. or a Link so i can see this issue firsthand to debug please. Marcher Technologies
Just wanted to make everyone possibly waiting on this block aware.... it requires no update..... when used with IPC 2.3.1 and, quite specifically Shoutbox 1.3.1(latest version) It works precisely as intended.... on 1.3.0 there was a line of js causing issues with IPC that Michael has resolved, so if this block seems to be non-functional on IPC 2.3, please update your Shoutbox. Shaz68
I'm using IPB 3.3 and Shoutbox 1.3.2. Will this be updated to a newer version? Or can I get instructions for installing to IPB 3.3? There's no option to load a file when adding a new block, so I choose 'custom' but I get errors after pasting the code and attempting to move to the next step. You are supposed to import the block from the bottom of the blocks page, and AFAIK, this should WAI... I'll test it again. EDIT: It works as intended with the latest SB version... so I'm not certain what is meant by that?
Shaz68
Thanks - I was looking at the options at the top of the page. I didn't even realise there was another option at the bottom.
Shaz68
After I installed this, I had an issue with pages on my site. When I select the Pages tab, I get the following error:Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING in/chroot/home/siteurl/html/ipb/admin/applications_addon/ips/ccs/sources/pages.php(441) : eval()'d code on line 1314Fatal error: Class 'skin_ccs' not found in/chroot/home/siteurl/html/ipb/admin/applications_addon/ips/ccs/sources/pages.phpon line 443 I had IPS support take a look, and they confirmed that it was the Shoutbox IP.Content block that was the cause, and when they removed it, the Pages issue went away. I am positively certain if that was the case this would have been either experienced by me or reported to me multiple times by now.http://www.marchertech.com/ you have something else occurring on your install, and it is not this block... either you have made the folly of not having the Shoutbox installed at ALL, or something else is wrong here. I suppose I can add a check to ensure SB is factually installed in the template.... sigh, cause that is the only possible thing I can think of, is you never installed the Shoutbox.... I have never had said error from this block, even locally where i develop in strict SQL with error_reporting at full tilt.
