Fast Lane!
Can anyone shed light on the EOL timeline for 3.1.x? Are we looking at roughly a year from now? Other? This is pretty critical for large sites that take time to migrate and wont upgrade until things are solid as a rock. Thanks for the help.

Management Charles Posted August 24, 2011 Management Share Posted August 24, 2011 We don't have a set EOL but we usually don't EOL one version until another one is out so it would be closer to 3.3's release. For example, we did EOL on 3.0 right around the time 3.2 was about to be released.
Fast Lane!
Will we get a certain heads up (time period). Say 2-3 months before hand so we can plan accordingly?
Management Charles Posted August 24, 2011 Management Share Posted August 24, 2011 We announced 3.0's EOL 6 months before.
Fast Lane!
Excellent. Will this be the case again (roughly)?
bfarber
We have every intention of letting everyone know in advance when 3.1 will be EOL,yes. We can't promise any exact amount of time will pass between this announcement and the actual EOL, but we have no plans to announce "tomorrow this product has reached end of life" or anything like that. :) Keep in mind, it's in our best interests to be open about this too. Our goal is not to upset our customers of course, and by being clear about when a product will no longer be supported our customers can plan accordingly.
