broni
I don't use ranks on my board, but it certainly looks like very interesting hook :)
Michael
It will skip the Ranks section if you don't have any, and just show the Team Icons section, and similarly if you don't have Team Icons but do have Ranks it'll just show those. Now if you don't have either, well, then there's very little point in installing this.
broni
Hahaha... I have team icons, but they're pretty much self-explanatory: Admin, Moderator, Member...:)
Wilford Tibbetts
Great hook, Michael! I was wondering, is it possible to add a scroll bar in it? I have more ranks/team icons than what can fit in one small box. Regards, Wilford Tibbetts
Michael
Does the box not autosize? Can you post a screenshot of what you get?
Wilford Tibbetts
The box tries to autosize, but I have too many ranks/team icons for it to show them all. I have about 30 ranks. lol... Some of my people post like mad, so I needed more ranks for them to attain. :D I could give you a screenshot, but it wouldn't show all the ranks that I have as I would have to scroll down and get a second screen shot to show them all. Regards, Wilford Tibbetts
Michael
I'll take a look and see what I can do for this. :)
Wilford Tibbetts
Great! Thanks, bro. I'm a huge fan of your Mods, btw. Been using them for a few years now. Keep 'em coming. :D Regards, Wilford Tibbetts
Michael
I've PMed you with a test copy of a new version that should fix that, Wilford, let me know if that worked. :)
Wilford Tibbetts
That's much better, Michael! Thanks! :D Another question, if I might, should the Team Icon be showing instead of it just saying "Icon" like it is now? Didn't know if that was another problem, or if that is how it's suppose to be. Thanks again! :D Regards, Wilford Tibbetts
Michael
Hmm, that's odd, I had to add {$this->settings['board_url']} into the URL to get them to work on my site, but that's causing issues on your site, I'll look into that. It should definitely not be showing just the word 'Icon' there.

Michael
OK, updated to version 1.0.1. New in this version:If you have a lot of ranks or team icons, you should now get a scrollbar on the popup Fixed issues with the ranks or team icons images not showing up Added links on the rank and group names to the member list filtered to show members in that rank/group To upgrade, just upload the new files and re-import the hook. Be sure to do a hard refresh in your browser to reload the new javascript file.
Wilford Tibbetts
Excellent! Thanks, Michael. :D Is the links supposed to show everyone with that particular rank? Or is it supposed to just send you to the Member list? Regards, Wilford Tibbetts
Michael
It should show all members of that particular rank or above, so for the lowest rank it's going to show everyone.
Wilford Tibbetts
Okay, just wanted to see if it matched what mine was doing. It's working perfectly. :D Regards, Wilford Tibbetts

ichadwick
Would like to have some admin options, however: It shows groups that aren't allowed to post or in some cases even view the forum, like banned and bots, but I don't want them listed or displayed. Would be nice to be able to turn them on or off. It shows a placeholder if there is no icon associated with the group or rank - would rather it just be blank. Otherwise it looks unfinished (which means I will end up getting an icon for it, even through I don't want one, simply to make it look complete). Would REALLY like to be able to add some text description to the display, to explain better what the ranks mean, not just the pip count. For example, my board promotes members to a special group after XXX posts, but the display only shows the icon, not the reason this group is listed.Thanks. Got it installed easily and it works. Michael
This is a nice hook, thank you. :) ..Al Just wanted to mention how awesome this hook is! You did a great job and I really appreciate it! Glad you guys like it :) It shows groups that aren't allowed to post or in some cases even view the forum, like banned and bots, but I don't want them listed or displayed. Would be nice to be able to turn them on or off. I suppose I could add a setting for this, if I decide to ever update this hook. It shows a placeholder if there is no icon associated with the group or rank - would rather it just be blank. Otherwise it looks unfinished (which means I will end up getting an icon for it, even through I don't want one, simply to make it look complete). That's not right, it only shows those groups that have team icons set. Check those groups that you are seeing a placeholder for and make sure they don't have a team icon. Would REALLY like to be able to add some text description to the display, to explain better what the ranks mean, not just the pip count. For example, my board promotes members to a special group after XXX posts, but the display only shows the icon, not the reason this group is listed. You'd be best off hard-coding those descriptions, to make them be something you could set in the ACP would require this small hook to become a full application, it's never been a feature anyone's asked for in the 4 years or so I've been doing this mod. optrexnz
Just out of interest, the other area that a forum postbit is used, where this mod would be useful is inside tracker. Can it be modified to work there also please?

Check those groups that you are seeing a placeholder for and make sure they don't have a team icon. I had to create an icon, then manually insert the URL for a team icon into the group to get rid of the placeholder. The boxes were blank previously. Same with a user rank that had no pips or icon to show - 0 to 10 posts - I had to create a pip for it to avoid the placeholder display. Works now, but with groups I DIDN'T want showing, and that had no team icons previously. And yes, I recached.
Michael
Just out of interest, the other area that a forum postbit is used, where this mod would be useful is inside tracker. Can it be modified to work there also please? I will see if I can add that, not sure about it since not everyone has the Tracker installed, so I don't know how this hook might behave differently for those folks. I'll put it on my ToDo list for the next version, to at least look into it. I had to create an icon, then manually insert the URL for a team icon into the group to get rid of the placeholder. The boxes were blank previously. Same with a user rank that had no pips or icon to show - 0 to 10 posts - I had to create a pip for it to avoid the placeholder display. I don't believe I suggested recaching. I honestly don't understand what it is you're telling me, can you please post a link to your site so I can see what your site is doing with this hook? Get rid of any 'placeholder' images you might have set up.
Michael
Fixed a reported bug with the HTML code for the popup, nothing too major but it would have appeared broken in webkit browsers.
