Might be a stupid question and I know you can add them but should Twitter and Facebook not be added as "contact methods" by default? If not, why? I have never used ICQ or Jabber and neither has any of my members.

Well, some people might want their real identity all over the internet. Maybe some have a job that doesn't allow things and if they said or did something they could lose their job. So its always best to leave it default and let the members choose to connect their other profiles.

If you want a Twitter or Facebook contact method, add the custom field. They're completely configurable in the ACP as it stands.

Note, you can also remove Jabber or ICQ if your community doesn't need them.

Alright but to me they seem a little outdated as contact methods. I guess these have been present since 3.0 tho.
