Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted July 12, 201113 yr There should be a live search at the top of the quick-navigation, it should be live and update as you type and would make it easy and quick to find items that match with the search term. It would make it quicker to navigate to forums.
July 12, 201113 yr If you want a live search, wouldn't it make more sense to ask that the search box, which is directly above the icon you have to click to open the quick navigation, has this feature added?
July 12, 201113 yr Author The search above is for searching through content, not content-categories. In addition what the search is searching for is decided based on whether you're in a topic etc. and therefor it would not make much sense - or be very user-friendly to have it as it's own options in there. On a forum with 300 forums it's not easy to quickly find a forum in the quick navigation, even though you should think so when you think about the name. To have the quick navigation come with it's own live search makes sense in my mind.
September 22, 201113 yr Author Anyone agree? There's nothing "quick" about scrolling trough lists like these in my opinion: I think it would be a lot better to have a quick search on the top that would limit down the possibillities as you typed. :)
September 22, 201113 yr kind of like 'CTRL +F' and putting a word in the search box, finds that word on the browser page as you type in the letters. In fact, using 'CTRL +F' with the quick navigation box open, highlights the word as you type it on the forum list. Only issue is its a browser function and not a specific quick search function inside the menu box
