Is there something liking on IPB 1.3 had with IP.Dynamic Lite, a index.php page for this mod so that it is possible to run it outside the forum directory?

I don't have anything included yet but will be including a file enxt version.

I came to make this suggestion but looks like its already been discussed prior and is in the pipeline.. Looking forward to the next version.

Your css looks to be set up for the default 2 columns. The following css properties (I think) need changing:

.ipsLayout .ipsLayout_left {

float: left;

margin-left: -210px;

width: 200px;

}

Should be something like:

.ipsLayout .ipsLayout_left {

float: left;

margin-left: -10px;

width: 200px;

}

#content, .main_width {

margin: 0 auto;

min-width: 960px;

width: 87% !important;

Should be something like:

#content, .main_width {

margin: 0 auto;

min-width: 960px;

width: 100% !important;

and

.ipsLayout_content {

float: left;

width: 80%;

should be something like:

.ipsLayout_content {

float: left;

width: 80%;

this fixed the left, but now the right hand side just went to the bottom...

  • 2 weeks later...

I have just upgraded to the latest forum version. I have uploaded the portal but in the modules section I cannot install it as I have this error message;

This application cannot be installed. Is it in the correct directory? You cannot install third party applications into the IPS directory or vice-versa.

any help would be appreciated

Someone else asked this earlier, but no reply was given. How to I make latest posts display in the main area instead of latest topics please? or.. how can I make topics that received the latest replies show on top in latest topics both in the main display, and sidebar?

Many thanks for your excellent app and your patient support.

Thanks Mike, but I didn't mean moving the blocks around. I was hoping to display topics that received the latest replies. Currently, recent topics block does not reflect recent activity. If users kept replying to other topics and didn't start a new topic for a day, what will show up is only yesterday's topics, and the days before. I need to make the topic that gets the latest reply appear first on top of the recent topics list, even if its not the latest posted topic, both in the main area and the sidebar block. How can I do that please?

You could change it to use the last post date instead, try this edit.

Open admin/applications/forums/extensions/portalPlugins/recent_topics.php

Find:

$this->DB->build( array( 'select' => 't.tid, t.start_date',
Replace With:
$this->DB->build( array( 'select' => 't.tid, t.start_date, t.last_post',

Find:

           	 $unpinned[ $row['last_post'] ] = $row['tid'];

                $all[ $row['last_post'] ]	  = $row['tid'];

Replace With:

           	 $unpinned[ $row['start_date'] ] = $row['tid'];

                $all[ $row['start_date'] ]	  = $row['tid'];

Save admin/applications/forums/extensions/portalPlugins/recent_topics.php
