portal is all screwy.

yes, I removed the application before upgrade to 3.3.4
yes, I deleted the portal plugin files as directed in the documentation

yes, I uploaded all the files as directed
yes, I did install the application
yes, I did go the system setting and the app settings

I have one block appearing.

If I try to use DevFuse ABG, I get a db error
If I try to use @z1000-forum.de upcoming events, it remains invisible, nothing shows, and yes, I did configure all the settings.

Here is what I had before and what I hope to achieve again:
a 3-col layout with right and left columns @ 280 px and mid column filling the remainder

old skeleton template:
<table class='ipbtable' cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td width="29%" class="nopad" valign="top">
<!-- LEFT -->
<!--::blogs_show_last_updated_x::-->
<!--::groups_show_latest::-->
<!--::vd_agenda_view::-->
<!--END LEFT-->
</td>
<!--SPACER-->
<td width="0%" class="nopad"> </td>
<td width="42%" class="nopad" valign="top">
<!--MAIN-->
<!--::newsfeed_getFeedData::-->
<!--END MAIN-->
</td>
<!--SPACER-->
<td width="0%" class="nopad"> </td>
<td width="29%" class="nopad" valign="top">
<!-- RIGHT-->
<!--::online_users_show::-->
<!--::show_newest_members::-->
<!--::abg_box::-->
<!--::recentposts_get_posts::-->

<!--END LEFT-->
</td>
</tr>
<!--End Main Content-->
</table>

new skeleton template:

<style>
.ipsLayout.ipsLayout_largeleft {
padding-right: 210px; padding-left:280px;
}
</style>
<if test="disablelightbox:|:!$this->settings['disable_lightbox']">
{parse template="include_lightbox" group="global" params=""}
</if>
<div class='ipsLayout ipsLayout_withright ipsLayout_largeleft clearfix'>
<div class='ipsLayout_left'>

</div>
<div class='ipsLayout_content clearfix'>

</div>
<div class='ipsLayout_right'>
<!--::online_users_show::-->

</div>
</div>
{parse template="include_highlighter" group="global" params="1"}

I have scoured the application for documentation on the blocks but there is nothing. How am I supposed to know what to do with blocks? Are they the same as ipcontent blocks?

Thanks for any help.

Brian

My forum, www.vespaforumhellas.gr is going at the Forum when you go there and not to the portal(Home)...how can I cange so it will go to Home and without having all the

http://www.vespaforu...ex.php?/portal/

so just the www.vespaforumhellas.gr?

Your question was already answered but for everyone else who wants to do this, check the Documentation folder included for instructions.

hi! please could somebody tell me how i can change the font size of the floating text inside the portal? its very small by default. thanks for help.

Sorry not sure what you mean by "floating" text?

I really need some help on properly configuring a 3-col layout with left and right sidebars having equal width around 270 px each and a center col. of around 445 px

Abg should be fixed now, I haven't taken a look at that calendar plugin in detail, you'll need to check with the author would could be the problem. I don't have documentation yet but to put it simple the block code can support html or php code. But no template variables/code like ip.content has.

If this is still an issue and I've still got access I'll take a look at the sidebars for you.

So do I create the plug-in in content and then use the {parse whatever} in the portal block? I was hoping there was an easy template for php noobs to basically have a block which is the same layout as the blog for the main content (similar to the portal main content with forum posts) so I could use one specfic blog on the main content/portal page.

Hi all,

is it possible to create a block showing latest blog activities? How?

Thanks a lot,

Thomas

I am currently working on it but I suck at this stuff. I am basically trying to use IP content to pull entries. Its just a matter of getting the php/html situated for the template.

Get this error on my portal sometimes, refreshing fixes it temporarily.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare curl() (previously declared in /home/xxxxx/public_html/panel/applications_addon/ips/ccs/sources/pages.php(441) : eval()'d code:1539) in/home/xxxxxx/public_html/panel/applications_addon/ips/ccs/sources/pages.php(441) : eval()'d code on line 1626

still searching for a 3-col layout that has the left and right columns @ 270 px and the middle content adjusted accordingly.

this is what I have in the skeleton template for the portal right now:

<style>
.ipsLayout.ipsLayout_largeleft {
padding-right: 210px; padding-left:280px;
}
</style>
<if test="disablelightbox:|:!$this->settings['disable_lightbox']">
{parse template="include_lightbox" group="global" params=""}
</if>
<div class='ipsLayout ipsLayout_withright ipsLayout_largeleft clearfix'>
<div class='ipsLayout_left'>
{parse block="member_blogfeed"}
{parse block="on_"}

<!--::groups_show_latest::-->
<!--::show_newest_members::-->

</div>
<div class='ipsLayout_content clearfix'>
<!--::newsfeed_getFeedData::-->
</div>
<div class='ipsLayout_right'>
<!--::online_users_show::-->
<!--::abg_box::-->
<!--::recentposts_get_posts::-->

</div>
</div>
{parse template="include_highlighter" group="global" params="1"}

if anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them and/or try them out ...!!!

thanks,

Brian

In that folder you mentioned are three xml-files:

- blog_featured_entry.xml

- blog_this.xml

- recent_blog_entries.xml

What do you want me to do with it?

Can you PM me the last one, I'll reply with the plugin code needed to work in Portal.

Looks like an IP.Content bug, are you using an ip.content block in the Portal?

Sorry Brian, forgot about this. I applied an edit while taking look at the ABG issue. It's in the default template, let me know if that's what you wanted. You need the withright and withleft and then you can add the larger styling onto that.

Hi Mike,
yeah, that was a real surprise when I had a look this morning and before reading here ... hey, who did that? !!!!! :))

It's pretty close to what I want although I wish I could get the sidebars to be matching in width @ 270 px. Right now, using MeasureIt, the left sidebar is at 270px and the right is at 280 px.

when you say you did that on the default template, did you mean in zuzuskin in the portal skeleton template? that's where I see the withleft and withright

thanks so much

Brian

ps for those who are interested in the 3-col layout that Mike finessed here:

<style>

.ipsLayout.ipsLayout_largeleft {

//padding-right: 210px; padding-left:280px;

}

</style>

<if test="disablelightbox:|:!$this->settings['disable_lightbox']">

{parse template="include_lightbox" group="global" params=""}

</if>

<div class='ipsLayout ipsLayout_withright ipsLayout_withleft ipsLayout_largeleft ipsLayout_largeright clearfix'>

<div class='ipsLayout_left'>

{parse block="member_blogfeed"}

{parse block="on_"}

<!--::groups_show_latest::-->

<!--::show_newest_members::-->

</div>

<div class='ipsLayout_content clearfix'>

<!--::newsfeed_getFeedData::-->

</div>

<div class='ipsLayout_right'>

<!--::online_users_show::-->

<!--::abg_box::-->

<!--::recentposts_get_posts::-->

</div>

</div>

{parse template="include_highlighter" group="global" params="1"}
