File Name: (Wolf) Global Menu

File Category: Integration

Add a menu just like the one used here on the IPS community forums. Since the heart of the HTML structure is used from IPS, this is a free hook. The settings are slightly awkward to use so if you need something more user-friendly, please consider using one of the other menu options available.

Features:
- Multiple menus
- Menu indenting
- Choose indent character
- Can have a separator show up
- Can select which member groups (or all users) to show menu to
- Include a logo image (optional)
- Logo placement (left/right/none)

'@' prefix: Use this in place of 'http://' for URLs. The RTE converts URL's to actual URL's which causes issues.
{http/https/ftp/udp} will convert {http} to http:// (for example), so that can be used to put in URL's without the limitation of using the '@' prefix.

This is working on my site so there should be no problems with the php part of the hook itself.

Absolutely love this.

I've love to see a way to have a menu without requiring a url. Or is this already possible?

An option to have a menu item with an image in front would be cool too.
img_tag_here URL_here Title_here

[/img] http://example.com Example

Also, I've found a little bug. :P

Turns out, this causes it to only show http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/ in the status bar. It still displays Dial-a-fix in the menu properly.

Found another bug. Even if you don't enter an image,

<img src="">

is still in the html. Also, shouldn't it be

<img src="" />

Still messing with this. Great work!

If you mean a menu where the title doesn't link to anywhere, just use something like this:

=# Menu Title Here

Although I am adding an extra option to use '#Menu title' and it'll do the same thing.

That's getting fancy. I made this primarily to have the same menu effect as here.

Okay have the first bug fixed, about to look at the second bug. You can see the first one fixed by looking at my community (under 'Help', there's the same link you had a problem with).

Will you be fixing the menu within a menu feature or just leave it as is?

When I mentioned that as a feature, I had thought I had added it but realized that I hadn't even tried to add it. I'm looking at leaving it 'as-is', at least for right now. This is really meant to be a low-end menu for someone who doesn't mind using a more raw method of filling in the menu information.

Don't make me wish I had this as a paid mod... :P

Possibly. Don't want to make this too advanced/complicated. Have to balance it between being something that gets the job done and being at the point that it should be an app.

For example, to add an image, you might be able to use HTML img tags. True, a bit more work but it keeps the hook simple. Having to process if someone is adding an image or not per line could get complex and yield tricky results. With an app though, could have a link for the URL, the text and options for including an image, with it all being easily handled.

I'd love to use this mod, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly for me. It adds in my first link just fine, but after I hit the 'edit button', the ACP rich text editor formats my block of text, and the whole thing breaks. Additionally, I can't get more than one link to display at once. I'm probably doing something wrong, but help please?

For those who are trying to address the issue of the missing "logo banner" for this hook, I have created one for everybody to use.

I'm waiting for an Administrator to approve the entry but you can also find the image here:

%7Boption%7D' alt='' class='ipsImage' >
URL Image: ' alt='' class='ipsImage' >

All you need to do is log into your Admin Control Panel and enter the URL in the box that says "Logo image URL". It's a blank logo and it will fix everybody's problem. You can also upload the image to your website or server and use that URL as well.
