I agree the system could be made much more useful than having authors enter an arbitrary string. Ask for the minimum/maximum version data we're required to supply with hooks anyway. Part of the problem with even that method is that it only asks for the version of IP.Board the resource is compatible with, some resources need to indicate they are only compatible with certain versions of other apps too.
