Blocks and hooks interchangeable

Would making blocks and hooks interchangeable be worth considering. I would like to use some of my IPC blocks on the forums. RSS feeds for example.

You can use the blocks in the hooks area. I do it on my site. I assume you are using the ip.content to create the blocks.

The ip.content gives you the code to put into the skin to show it in the hooks area.

Now what would be nice is being able to use the hooks on the ip.content. Although that might be possible too, with just a template edit. I may have to try it.

So you can use the widget code in the template or do you export a block as an xml file and upload that as a new hook?
