Is there a way to watch a file in the Marketplace and not the comments? Like I want to get a notification when the application or mod was updated and not the comments on the file?

You have to use the "Like"-Feature, then you'll get notifications.

It only shows

• Receive notification of comments
• Frequency Instantly Only when not online
• Like Anonymously
  Do not show me in like summary

and that it, I don't want comments just to see if the file is updated.

That section is a bit misleading. Use the like system and select to receive notification of comments.

1) You actually get notified of any change to the file (updated version OR comment)
2) We don't use comments in IDM (we use the support topic feature instead), so you'll not receive any comment notifications. If you wanted notification of comments, you would have to subscribe to the topic in the forums for the file instead.
