Remove Editor if BB code is disabled in a specific forum.

If i set a specific forum to not allow BB code it seems completely illogical that the editor offering all the BB code options is still viewable to users who try using the editor and then post numerous messages saying that the editor is broken because none of it works.

You do realise that it is perfectly normal to have a form text field which would allow users to post text without the editor and thatpreviosuy versions of IPB for the quick reply field didn't have a full editor like the latest version?

Let's look at for example one of the biggest service in the world Twitter:

%7Boption%7D

Do you see any editor options on here or just a text field?

We don't allow Youtube or any other videos so why would we want a Insert Media option (which nobody has a clue which video hosting services it actually works with in the first place) in the editor?
We don't allow users to post images so why would we want an insert image button?
We don't want people posting huge bold text in various fonts or color's so why would we want the text options in the editor?

Etc, etc, etc.

Well first we are not twitter, and they don't have those things due to them not having those options at all.

Nobody said IPB was Twitter what i pointed out was that it is perfectly normal and possible to post text without an editor which you stated was the only was it was possible to post which clearly isn't the case.

There is no editor in the mobile skin, so it is not impossible.

Thank you Miss Moiraine, using the mobile skin is not ideal but a starting point for me to make a skin which does not include the editor which is apparently "the only way to post right" although thats clearly not the case.

I agree. If you add any feature and add an option to disable that feature in the ACP, the feature shouldn't be available to end users you block the feature from anymore. Otherwise it makes the software/website appear confusing and poorly designed.
