Best option is send me mail on biuro [at] ipslink.pl. Then I can help you more.

I've purchased the mod and I'm quite happy with it. Thanks DawPi.

I have a question.. what point system are you guys using ?! I need a reliable one as the one developed by Calypso stopped working long time ago I can't even uninstall it :(

nothing like I thought it was... Is there any option to enter an email that then emails a message to the person rather than just providing a link becasue 90% of people won't even bother with this making it kinda pointless, people want everything done for them and if they have to go and manually open their email client to then copy n paste the link hardly any will even bother.... Sorry but feel like wasted $15 and kinda annoyed but it's my fault I should have looked at all the image screen shots... I could have spent the $15 on different but much better apps that actually are useful

100% agree, if it worked like that I wouldn't mind paying the extra to have the copyright message removed.

Getting a database error after installing this application. It occurs when a user clicks "Register". I currently only have the refferal system enabled for Admin however when you go to register there is still an option to enter a refferer. I am wondering why I get the database/driver error?

I would also like to make a suggestion before purchasing.
I see that when you are managing a member through the Admin Control Panel there is no way to manually add in a referral. I find that this would be very useful if an admin wanted to back and add in an older registration onto the members current referral count.

It might sound a little dumb, but I know this would be useful for my forum.
Thanks

Sigh, just bought this based on a misunderstanding as to what was written in the product description:

"three notification methods: PM, E-mail or Inline. - info in member profiles about referrer." - this makes it sound like you are able to send an e-mail through the referral system through people you wish to invite.

DawPi, could you possibly add this function soon? I see quite a few members have requested it. It's a really essential part of any invite system.

Just to be clear about what I mean: Users should be able to type in a list of e-mail addresses they want to send the referral link to and edit the message that is being sent out.

Thanks mate!

I see a plain link is the basis of the referral system. My questions is:

What if someone guesses the username related to that specific ID? One might just copy the ID of another member and give the link+ID+username combination to a friend ...

So what then..? Why this is inappropriate? How yuou want to prevent it? It can't be done.. Or maybe I misunderstood you.. Could you show me few examples for better understanding?

If I want an invite-only board, where people are able to invite friends based on a reward system (to earn the right to invite someone) and trust (the community is made of trusted people), it doesn't seem good to allow anyone to join simply because they were provided with a valid member+ID combination. Unwanted people should not be able to sneak in by having this information.

Example: I'm someone who was never referred by anyone and by accident (or else) I meet someone who is a member in the board. Since this "someone" doesn't have invitations (or right to give invitations) I ask them to provide me with a username+ID of a member who is known to have invitations (or right to give them) and then I visit the link/fill the registration form with this information...

This should not be allowed. Why not use hashes/codes and send these on a URL by email to the invitee? These are impossible to be guessed by any other member and would not include any public information such as username/IDs.

Hi -

This is an intriguing mod. We use an external membership login system that provides Single Sign On to our IP board (aMember) so the aMember wall would present before any referrals would ever get to the board. I'm not really looking for a referrer response per se ... so that's okay. But, in reading through all the posts:

1. have you added the feature of adding multiple emails in a form to send out a mass invite?
1a. could you add a feature that allows a user-created link, or an admin-defined link (that would be the ultimate for us)
2. do you have the facebook/twitter feature developed that allows people to post an invite to a group on facebook?
3. this is way off topic and more of a suggestion for a different MOD but using some of the same coding architecture:

create a referral system to invite CURRENT ipb members, specifically 'friends' to join a group or to see/share a link you like? I would love this feature for use with our external website component, buddypress, so that members who have created new groups on our buddypress installation could sent out an invite to all of their ipb friends to join the newly formed group on buddypress (note that our buddypress installation has SSO from aMember as well)

Thanks so much for your time and effort to develop this mod.

Brian
