Hello,

I almost finished making a new version.

I can't confirm any of your issues. To check them I need your FTP&ACP details (I didn't received them from you yet).

Mockup of changes:

  • fixed ACP sorting issues,
  • fixed problem with multiple referring the same member,
  • changed FURL masks for real masking (hashcode) without viewable member ID,
  • fixed other small bugs.

Hi,

I need your IP address so I can white list it - if you can send it to me via PM, I can then give you the access so you can login to check.

I'm not sure if this has been suggested yet, but a referral badge like Ning provides would be an awesome addition to this plugin. I see that you've incorporated personalized referral links, but adding this as an additional option would be really cool. Basically, a personalized referral badge is created for each member, and then they can copy the html and paste into their websites, blogs, etc... These generate a LOT of referrals, and people tend to like using them on their sites due to the "cool factor". See below for an example.

Would love to see this.

I just found this area and believe I posted my question in the wrong place. I apologize. I'm new.

My mobile members are not getting the referral field on registration and referrals are required to sign up. Could you help?

Thanks :)

(I attempted to back track to find if this was already brought up but I didn't see it. If I missed it, I'm sorry to bother you. I see your comment on updates soon. Just wanted to know if this was my error or if its part of the updates you're planning)

So, how extensive is this point system integration? Users get points for referring other users, is that when they refer or when the referred user actually sign up.

Also, it would be nice if you could make it so that when the referred person posts/make threads, the referrer earns X/Y amount of points

Like lets say Joe invites Jane to join the forum. Jane signs up and Joe gets point. But then whenever Jane posts/make threads, Joe would also get points (encouraging active engagement with those you refer, instead of only being interested in them signing up)

I bought this add-on, but I don't think it's working properly.

I did several test invitations.

- The email sent to the referral to invite them to the site did not automatically include the name of the Referer Member, so there's no way for the user to know who invited them.

- I set the Invite Type to "Invite Only", requiring the user to click on a registration link. My assumption would be that the link would contain the information of the Referrer member, but it doesnt seem to. When my test referred user clicked on that link, it just took the referred user to the registration path but did not reward the Referrer Member with points, OR send a mail to them to notify that someone joined.

- Do "Points" mean "Reputation" ?

- How can I set this up so that the referrer is linked to the referred member properly?

Hello,

Every confirmed referral will produce new points on the referrer account. That's all. You can use them (points) in any other way - in any points system or whatever you want to.

I thought about such thing, but I decided to leave it as it's right now.

I got it. I'll think about it in future (after 4.0 compatible release). Right now I want to focus on bugs, not new functions.

Thank you and really sorry to hear that it doesn't work in your mind properly. I'll try explain you your concerns.

- The email sent to the referral to invite them to the site did not automatically include the name of the Referer Member, so there's no way for the user to know who invited them.

It's simple - not every registered user on board has the same nickname as in real life. So for example referral mail from 'MrTony' could be recognized as invite from Mark (in real life. In the net he has a MrTOny nick). I hope you get what I want to say. So I decided to leave it as it's right now.

Maybe you didn't enabled invites from the same IP? It's base on cookies, so if anyone doesn't store them in browser then referral system can't work properly. I can check it for you - just send me your ACP details.

- Do "Points" mean "Reputation" ?

Of course. Too.

- How can I set this up so that the referrer is linked to the referred member properly?

Hm? Could you explain?

Can you add the total number of referrals of any given member to their profiles? Sort of bragging rights, and is a quick reference for Staff to look for people who are actively trying to increase population. Maybe just list it below the Referrer line?

It's insteresting, but the same information you can find in sidebar. I know that's limited by X positions. I'll think about it.

I enabled "Same IP" and ran some tests.

It looks like the referrer doesn't receive the PM notification and they don't receive reputation reward.

I will send you my ACP info.

Another question:

- Is New Topic and New Post points only rewarded for the first ones, or every post/topic refferred user makes?

Hi DawPI, sent you ACP access - let me know if I did it wrong... Still not working.

Hi,

I'm having an issue which I apologise if has been previously discussed, but my search results didn't indicate that.

Basically, when I give people a referral link with a user ID, it does not parse that referrers ID/username into the registration form. The only way to get this working is to turn masking on. Is there a way to share the referral link with masking turned off, where it automatically puts the referrers name in the form when you share the link? I hope this makes sense. Thanks.
