Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted June 13, 201014 yr I was wondering if there is a list of all the possible BBCodes that come with IP.Board as a *standard* feature with the board? I don't mean adding extra BBCode just the ones that come as default - minus the smilies. Ted.
June 13, 201014 yr Like this? http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?&app=forums&module=extras§ion=legends&do=bbcode
June 13, 201014 yr Author Is there BBCode for a scrollable code or quote box or something when there is lots of text? If you select a lot of text in code or quote tags it configures to the full length of the text rather than in a fixed height scrollable box. I have seen this used in other boards but I am sure I have seen it in IPB, I just can't recall where or know the code used... Ted.
June 14, 201014 yr Author Well I found what I was looking for which may help to explain what I meant: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?P=19614d1c6fca1e63b6986f1b21339f9f&topic=178817.msg1138453#msg1138453 or: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=7406235&sid=57ec9f6f447618578b9ad0a09129841a#p7406235 I thought IP.Board has something like this as a default BB Code tag without having to edit CSS files? Ted.
June 14, 201014 yr That was the codebox bbcode in IP.Board 2.x, it doesn't do that in IP.Board 3.x anymore.
June 14, 201014 yr Author Any reason why that BB Code was removed? It is annoying having to scroll through lots of pages of code... Ted.
June 14, 201014 yr Because it was confusing having multiple "code" styling bbcodes. Now all the various "code" bbcodes (html, code, codebox, sql, etc.) are parsed as the same.
June 14, 201014 yr Author Is it possible to add a scroll bar? It starts to get untidy when there is lots of code posted across multiple posts in the same topic... Ted.
June 15, 201014 yr Author I was thinking something along the lines of what has been done in this topic: http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/307496-coding-bbcode-codebox/page__view__findpost__p__1932127 However I am not sure if this is the best way? Ted.
October 20, 201014 yr In your look and feel section, edit the ipb_styles CSS. Find this one pre.prettyprint And add this line within the { }max-height: 300px;
November 7, 201113 yr "edit the ipb_styles CSS." Just in case anyone needs to do this, it's now in ipb_common, not ipb_styles.
