Apply badword filters to usernames

It'd be really good if the badword filters could also apply to usernames and display names (i.e. to prevent someone named 'nether regions of anatomy hole' signing up).

I very much agree with you here.

You can make it so that a user can't register with a certain user name.

We just use Admin validation. Silly and inappropriate names just get deleted. We seldom get any complaints by doing this.

Just use the ban system under the Members tab instead. You can already pre-ban usernames you don't want to see. I see no point to also applying the badwords list to the usernames, when a comparable system is in place already.

Does that part allow for either regex input or something similar?

You can use * as a wildcard (i.e. you could ban *@gmail.com for an email address to prevent any gmail addresses being accepted).
