Wolfie
How long will it be before IP.Board 3.1.0 is released, will it be longer than 1 month and if so would I be better off installing IP.Board 3.0.5In other topics that this has been discussed, I've said and still say that my personal GUESS and estimate is the end of June, beginning of July when 3.1 will be released. Keep in mind that I don't have any sort of inside knowledge of a release date or anything like that, it's just my own theory. It could be sooner or it could be later. Knowing that the v2.x series will hit EOL after June, I would recommend upgrading now so that when v3.1 is finally released. As has been in the past, at least for me, going from v2.0 to v2.1 (to v2.2 to v2.3), those upgrades usually are much smoother, so I think it'll be the same for v3.0 to v3.1. So in my personal opinion, I think you'd be better off upgrading to v3.0.5 so that you're 'caught up' and the upgrade to v3.1 will(should) go much easier. 3.1.0 Release Date: When Its Ready :sleep:Don't forget the

Wolfie
matt sould be rebult 3.1 here later so i think we sould be abale to download it next week but dont count me on this  If 3.1 becomes available for downloading, it'll be a beta version. IPS has said that we'll get a public beta to play with (and report bugs from) before it goes final.

Wolfie
ops I ment Beta  Yeah, don't want to leave that part out, otherwise people will be lynching IPS, saying that someone said it would be released "by the end of (insert month name here)", etc. Even though I'm not an IPS staff member, nor developer, etc, and even though I've maintained that any dates I whip out of my rear is just my personal guessing, I just know someone will claim that it was promised or something. Just watch.

Wolfie
2 weeks. SOURCE: http://bit.ly/dbd2gRDidn't say it WILL be released, only that we can EXPECT it. Not saying it won't happen, just clarifying the wording. Of course, since Charles said that, we'll have to lynch him if it doesn't happen. ;) We don't have a firm release date but you expect public beta versions for download by the end of this month (including IP.Board 3.1 and IP.Content 2.0). bfarber
As has been mentioned, we expect to release a public beta by the end of the month. Final release will largely depend on the number and seriousness of the bugs reported during the public beta testing (although as we run the software here first, and also utilize private beta testing, we tend to catch the biggest issues before releasing a public beta). sc0use
will the beta 1 have an upgrade option or fresh install ? cant wait to test it out
bfarber
Betas are unsupported and we do not recommend running them on your live installation. That said, they generally have an upgrade option available (however, upgrades between betas are not always guaranteed).
ᴡᴅツ
install the beta when it's out to test for bugs and to pre-customize things. Don't use it on a live site just because of the headache it might cause. IPB 3.1 final will be released before July, that's my safest-reasonable guess.
