Currently, if you check IP as moderator, IPB gives you a link to Nic.com where you have to manually copy paste that ip.

Suggestion, change that to RIPE, where you can put that ip directly to that link so you dont need to copypaste. So IPB would show link "Check IP ****" and when you click that, it would take you to http://www.db.ripe.net/whois?form_type=simple&full_query_string=&searchtext=94.251.244.241

It isnt automation script. IPB would just show link in forum what user cliks if they want to. It is done this way in SMF. Im not saying that IPB should redirect user to taht page or anything like that. Just show link with IP adress in it.

It's not automation though, it's just a standard link. Automation would be if a script queries the page, and returns the content through cURL or something similar.
