Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted April 7, 201014 yr Hi I see a big popular star sign on topic view will it be good to show small stars next to topic on topic list view as well? I know "rating" will be shown there but again, who really uses rating @@ even so FEW people use it on IPS here
April 7, 201014 yr The "popular" star is because a post has a certain amount of rep. And if you ask me the total amount of rep given in a thread really wouldn 't say much about a thread's popularity. I think all it would really say is "Post here for free reps!"
April 7, 201014 yr Author it is rep? it is a sum up of all replies or original posts? seriously, IPB should really think how to integrate with rep+rating PLUS warning system such as if someone get wanred by moderator, rep is deducted by X points (actually rating is really dump-able) Functions are getting very scatterd here and still lack of better integration to stimulate forum interactions

April 7, 201014 yr I disagree - I think warning should remain completely separate from reputation and/or rating. It's a tool meant for use by moderators to manage users in the community. Sometimes I have to warn someone here for cussing. I don't think that detracts from any valuable information they've shared with the community, or that it should lower their reputation points. It's simply a part of upholding community rules. The systems are separate for a reason. Rating/rep is another story.
April 8, 201014 yr Author I think what I meant is that it is good to create "mechanism" to stimulus/incentive forum activities Ebay has reputationspoints Yahoo knowledge has points system that anyone answer others' question, question poster could give them points, yahoo knowlegde works well Many people will believe forumis like a mini society, society need "currency" or something like it to keep it running
April 20, 201014 yr is it possible to list "popular" tagged topics? last 30 days, last 6 months etc? bump...

I can write a very interesting content, with the correct concepts and good ideas But I can also (simultaneously) to turn so rude to another user. and I get +1 rep and 1 warning ....
