Hey Guys,

I have a small suggestion in regards to the default search behavior, specifically the results. IPB 3 shows a little bit of a post preview in addition to the topic title. When we upgraded our forums our members didn't like this and wanted the old IPB 2 search results back which displayed only the topic title. I found that the only way to change this was to either use Advanced Search and check the "Do not show a post preview" box or edit the source code directly in admin/applications/forums/extensions/searchPlugin.php and set

public $noPostPreview = true;

My suggestion is that there should be a setting in the Admin Area which allows an administrator to set this search option through AdminCP. Hopefully we will see that in a future version. Thank you & keep up the good work! :thumbsup:

We're still on v2.3.6 but i do prefer the option to have titles only as default and can see our members complaining too partially as the nature of the forum means many are on small laptops or notebooks with wireless connections like a fairly low-fi compact layout.
