December 19, 200915 yr Sorry to bother but I can not even see the chat let alone use it. When I try to start it I get: [#CSTART-0] There was an error connecting with the chat room. Please notify an administrator. What did I do wrong? Please help. Cheers. Carlo Hi there, have you entered the chat key CORRECTLY from the client area and put it in the Chat application correctly?
December 19, 200915 yr Yes .. I suppose so! Try regenerating a key any putting the new key in the chat app.
December 19, 200915 yr Done ... but nothing changed. Have you configured the permission correctly? To allow groups to access it?
December 21, 200915 yr Does your server allow outbound connections? Look in your php.ini to see if curl is installed, or if allow_url_fopen is enabled.
December 21, 200915 yr Go to your ACP, support tab, click "phpinfo" link. Search page for curl and note if you find it Search for "allow_url_fopen" and determine the values it shows next to it.
December 21, 200915 yr Author These are the info I found: curl cURL support: enabled cURL Information: libcurl/7.11.2 OpenSSL/0.9.7e ipv6 zlib/1.2.2 allow_url_fopen Local value ON Master Value ON
December 28, 200915 yr Basically your server can't connect to the chat server. Because it's beta we don't have full proper support for the application at this time. If you can sort out why it can't connect in the mean time (it's almost certainly a server-side issue) then that's great, otherwise for official support it will unfortunately have to wait until we release Chat as final.
December 30, 200915 yr I am getting this on mine now too, but it was running fine for a week or so now.
December 30, 200915 yr My error message has just switched to this one now: [#CJOIN-5] The room id supplied is invalid. Please notify an administrator.
December 30, 200915 yr I fixed the problems yesterday (there was some mis-synchronization that had happened). Right now we've got some system maintenance going on, which is causing the synchronization problems at the moment. We'll get it all back online once the maintenance routines are complete.
December 30, 200915 yr We'll get it all back online once the maintenance routines are complete. How much time will you think that the chat back online ? thanks
December 30, 200915 yr Try it now. It was up all day (pretty much since the time I posted) however looking at the database it looks like approximately 6 accounts got "caught" in the system and didn't clear properly. I've cleared them now. Actually, give me a couple more minutes. I'm still working on those 6 accounts.
December 30, 200915 yr Ok cool. Yeah, if anyone has any trouble at this point, try regenerating your key and updating your ACP. It's possible I didn't get those 6 accounts updated properly, so regenerating the key should resolve that. The underlying/original issue should be resolved now, I believe.
December 31, 200915 yr I generated a new key this morning when this started happening. [#CSTART-4] The room ID supplied was invalid. Please notify the administrator. I'll try to generate a new key now. update: the new key did work.
February 3, 201015 yr I'm getting the same error and it worked before. Even when I generate a new key it still shows the error.
