This is a VERY simple hook, it simply adds a sidebar to the board index which you can insert custom html into.

This was a request on the forum http://forums.invisionpower.com/topic/288146-blank-hook/

You can add images, text or whatever you want.

Simply upload the .xml in the hooks manager then goto your system settings enter the "hooks" tab and you'll see there settings for the "blank sidebar hook". in there is 4 options PER sidebar (so 12 in total), on/off switch, group settings, title (obvious) and a standard bbcodde editor, just enter what you want in there and it will show up in the sidebar :)


Updated with a few requested features

• Now you can have upto 3 custom sidebars with this hook (fully controlable in the acp).
• Usergroup settable. You can even have 1 sidebar only visable to guests and have it display the login form, replacing the lost "quicklogin" option from 2.3

Doesn't seem to work if you try to put Javascript in it. It either shows some extraneous code and then the Javascript, or the Javascript fails to execute at all and just displays a portion of text. Yes, I added the Javascript using the HTML edit function.

I'm having the same problem with JS I'm trying to get Ventrillo server info in one of them. Does anyone have a cure for this yet

I installed the Blank Sidebar.

I added some javascript affiliate code but nothing shows up except the code I added. A rotating image banner is supposed to show up and change image everytime the user refreshes the screen.

This code works fine when added to my portal block.

So how do I go about getting the javascript to work within my blank sidebar hook?

I couldn't get the java to work either, so I used the Flash code and it worked good. I guess that is if you have that option though.

Tried the hook out, it works well, but it seems that formatting isn't working. If I div/centre any text or image I just get [ center ] written there. Also spotted that it will only process ten images inserted into the text box. Anything after that it seems to ignore the image tags and drop them?

Fixed the formatting issue:
Go here: 1. Tools & Settings > 2. System Settings > 3. System > 4. Blank Sidebar
Then click : Just click the edit button near the content box you can either paste the content direct into the next window, or toggle the content box from an editor into a text area. Then you can just paste HTML straight into the text area.

I am having some problems with this. I've installed it & can edit the hook 1 content & put it p as the side bar. But the content for hook 2 is coming up exactly the same, no matter what I put in the content for hook 2. How can I fix this?
