Hey there,

How would I be able to use a PHP code like this?:

// Set IP and Port hereif (!$socket = @fsockopen("107.170.99.177", 80, $errno, $errstr, 5)){echo "<td><center>Node #1 Status: <b>: <font color='red'><strong>Offline!</strong></font></b></center></td>";}else {echo "<td><center>Node #1 Status: <b><font color='green'><strong>Online!</strong></font></b></center></td>";fclose($socket);}?>

<?php

Is it possible to put blocks between default IPB blocks in certain order? Or it's only before/after default blocks?

Not sure if you ever got this answer but yes there is, Once you create a block you can hide it from the default list and then export the block and install it as a separate block and then order where you want it.

Can I use sidebar blocks to show .gif animated iamges???

I have tried but the animation doesn't work and only shows a static image.

Thanks

Yes I have one on my site. Just make sure the naming of the file isn't too long. I have seen that cause issues. Just add the code:

<IMG SRC="placeyourURLhereforimage">

But obviously place the url to your image between the quotes. Then just add it too a new block and save it. Should work

As for me I have a question of my own. For some reason I thought someone had come up with a way to add a who is online to one of these sidebar blocks. I like it better than at the bottom. I cant seem to get to Eric's old site so can anyone point me on a way to add this to a custom block?

Thanks for the advice so far.

Still not getting any luck with this.

I've tried a couple of ways now, uploading via ftp, hosting it on my facebook page and copying the html for that, as a file on the pc but the animation still doesn't work.

Any other ideas at all??

Thanks.

Is the file just an animated gif? I used one in mine.

I just placed on my host and added a IMG tag to call it and mine works perfectly.

Is the naming convention long on the file? try naming it a small title Iike image.gif

When you view this image in a browser does it animate there?

When I try to edit the blocks I'm getting this error:

Fatal error: Class 'skin_global_1' not found in /PATH/admin/sources/classes/output/publicOutput.php(3846) : eval()'d code on line 3

How can I fix this?

Thanks

I'm still waiting for a solution for this error. I understand this is a free addon so I"m happy to pay someone to offer a solution.
