Edit Topic Description in IPB

Featured Replies

I'm not sure if this is a bug, an omitted feature in 3 or just me being stupid but the ajax edit topic description doesn't seem to work when listing topics. There also doesn't seem to be a way of editing it from within the topic itself. Am I missing a fundamental change with IPB3?

Edit --> Use Full Editor on the first post in the topic :)

Thanks, Can we get a mouse-over button like the one for editing topic title please? Editing description now takes three clicks and three full page loads. when it used to only take one mouse hold.

Agreed with AndyMillne.

The previous AJAX editing of descriptions was very handy and my moderators used it all the time.

I guess it is probably quite hard to program into the new IPB 3 version, but it'd be great if it could.

I agree. I (and my moderators) really miss the ability to edit topic descriptions from list of topics view.

if the description section can be used to act as the TAG or KEYWORDS function, it will be much the better.

in ipb v1.3, title description is NOT included in the search function, which is not easy for members to quickly locate the posts via searching the keywords or TAG.

One more vote (plus seventeen moderators).

Add mine too.

A big vote from me, too ... my moderators and I are already desperate ... We urgently need this feature back.

Tried a new mod and it's 98% working:

The only problem is when I save; it's not updating the 'div' description... you need to reload the page.

Trying to fix to release it asap.

Add my vote too please. In our usage, we'll post updates to a thread and change the description with the update. It takes us 3-4 times longer to do this now...
