dziner Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Will there be some documentation on the new IPB3 soon? >_<
beeman Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 http://resources.invisionpower.com/index.php?appcomponent=cms&module=articles&category=134 try there :)
bfarber Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 People are frequently asking for "documentation" but not specifying what they want to see documented exactly.

Let me clarify, I would like to see documentation on navigating and working in the admin CP with the new features that have been added, hooks, permissions, etc. I would also like to see documentation on using facebook connect, and openID. :)
Mark H. Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I'm pretty sure that most, if not all, people want a 3.x version of the 2-3 detailed PDF's that were available for the 2.x series. I know that I do.
Lewis P Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 PHPDoc would do me nicely. ;) I can't seem to get it to create at all. :(

I'd urge you to make use of it, as I think it will help you with most of the new stuff. I know that I do. The detailed PDF was done by a third party, as I recall. I am not positive when an updated copy will be available. But there are problems with some of it that I need to go through. I'm hopeful I can get things cleaned up and maybe have a copy of the phpdocs up next week, or the week after.
dziner Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 thanks bfarber for the reply I will look into your suggestion.
Mark H. Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 A 3rd party did the 2.x PDF Docs, eh? Well, I still want one like that, but for 3.x. :P

Well, I still want one like that, but for 3.x. :P As I recall (though I'm not known for my memory). Mind you, it was on a contract basis (they didn't do it out of the kindness of their hearts  ).
Wolfie Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Not to be a stick in the mud but could the topic be corrected in the spelling?

No biggie.. Just might be easier for people to find if they are looking for the topic. Especially if they do a title search for documentation. I'd like a detailed description of what each permission setting does for the acp restrictions.

Mind you, it was on a contract basis (they didn't do it out of the kindness of their hearts  ). I sincerely hope you didn't give them the final payment, considering that an entire section of the manual, about one of the ACP menus, was missing.
