Eternalblade Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Hi All ^_^ I have an old forum that seriously needs upgrading, so when I logged in in my downloads section I can only see an upgrade path from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6. I couldn't find the files required to upgrade all the way from 2.3.4 to 3.0.1. Am I missing something? If someone could be so kind to point me to the right files that would be fantastic as I don't really want to do a clean install to 3.0.1 and lose all my members and posts...
Alex K. Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Remove everything except the user-uploaded files (I think it will be /uploads, as well as /gallery and/or /blog if you have them). (I wouldn't be sure of the file names though). Also keep conf_global.php. (Make sure you back everything up first.) Then just upload the files for a clean 3.0.1 install, go to /admin/upgrade and follow the prompts. Also, if you're not comfortable doing this, IPS can do the upgrade for you. Submit a ticket about it.
Guest Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Make sure you back everything up first, especially before you delete the files. I learned this the hard way...board was down for almost 2 days
bfarber Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Hello, I'm not sure that anyone really answered the question with the answer you were looking for. To upgrade to 3.0.1, all you need to do is download the full 3.0.1 package (unfortunately, there is no "upgrade package" that you can use) and upload all of the files to your site. Then visit You're not seeing an upgrade package for 2.3.x to 3.0.1 because every single file has changed, so "every file" is in the upgrade pack (thus, just use the full pack).http://yoursite.com/admin/upgrade
